Requiem 4.1 - Remove iTunes DRM (FairPlay) from music, video and books

It's still working fine for me (only 720p, mind you). Make sure you're using the old version of iTunes and if you're having problems, log out and back in again. You also might need to disable two factor authentication because that's not well supported by the old version of iTunes. (Sorry, I know this reply is over a year late!)

Thanks. Since the old version doesn't support 1080p it's kind of useless for me which sucks. We need someone to figure out how to strip DRM from 1080p and even 4k movies/shows from iTunes. I just hate using other software that reconverts files because they lose quality in the process.

Just posting an update of my experience April 2020.

Requiem still worked for me. On SD (TV Show) content.

It was inconvenient, yes, but following these steps, I got it to work on my Win10 PC.

1. Uninstall existing iTunes and also uninstall the following (You must uninstall all of these in order to successfully re-install the older version):

• Apple Software Update
• Apple Mobile Device Support
• Bonjour
• Apple Application Support 32-bit
• Apple Application Support 64-bit

2. Download and Install iTunes 10.7 from Apple:

• http://appldnld.apple.com/iTunes10/041-7197.20120912.Frt4R/iTunes64Setup.exe

3. Download Requiem 4.1 https://download.digiex.net/Apps/Requiem/requiem-4.1-win.zip
4. I had to rename the folder iTunes library located at c:/Users/~username~/Music/iTunes to something else in order for 10.7 to start properly
5. Launch iTunes 10.7 and download the content you want to remove DRM from.

• (If you previously had content the content already downloaded in your previous iTunes install, its possible to copy the files to your new library locally if you know where the files are located. You may want to plan ahead and make sure you know where those files are stored before downgrading iTunes.)

6. Ensure the files play correctly in iTunes. You may need to remove Authorization (under the "Store" menu) and then re-authorize your computer in order for the files to work.
7. Close iTunes, then launch requiem, and let it do its work.

Hi all! I signed up just so I could say this: You can no longer disable two factor authentication on your apple ID, and itunes 10.7 does not support a popup for it, HOWEVER, you can try to log in (you will get an error, and a text with your 2 factor code). Take the code and add it to the end of your password and try to login again and it will accept it. This info was so hard to find I thought I would post for y'all.

I do know about it, and I have tried it. Apple Music downloads from the subscription streaming service are protected with a newer type of DRM called FairPlay 2. Requiem works on FairPlay DRM. It doesn't work on downloads from the streaming service. With TV shows and Movies from Apple, I have seen a few that still have FairPlay DRM. But many are Fair Play 2 and Requiem can't decrypt them.

Sorry for the bad news. There's a lot of software that claims to remove DRM from FairPlay 2, but most reviews I've seen say it's actually a screen recorder (or audio recorder). Not what you really want.

Requiem works very well on all of the types of content you mention, with some limitations that have already been mentioned in this conversation.
