SameBoy is a highly accurate open-source emulator for the original Game Boy and Game Boy Color, with Super Game Boy and Game Boy Advance modes too. It is known for timing accuracy and a built-in debugger, and it ships its own free boot ROMs, so it needs nothing from Nintendo. This is the Windows version by LIJI32.

Download SameBoy 1.0.4

This is the official 1.0.4 release (9 October 2026), unchanged: sameboy.exe, the debugger, shaders, and the free boot ROMs the project bundles.

How to install / use:

1. Extract the zip into a folder and run sameboy.exe.
2. Drag a game you own onto the window or use the menu to open it.
3. Configure controls and the scaling filters from the Preferences window.

Not included: Game ROMs. The boot ROMs in the zip are SameBoy's own replacements, not Nintendo's.
