Want to build your own Xbox 360 homebrew apps with a clean UI and simple C# code? Now you can!

Introducing Silverlight360 - a homebrew Silverlight SDK for the Xbox 360. Since the official Xbox 360 Application Development Kit (ADK) has never leaked, I decided to make my own.

You need a few things to get started:
1. A fresh clone of the Silverlight360 repo
2. Silverlight 3 SDK (attached)
3. Extracted Plex app files
4. MSBuild, for example Visual Studio 2026 Build Tools
5. Something to write code with, either Claude/Codex or Visual Studio/vscode.

You can find more documentation here:

New: libraries for Silverlight360 apps

  • Silverlight360.Common, in the SDK: NativeBuffer for calling the console's kernel and XAM, DebugLog, DirectionalFocus for D-pad focus, and Screenshot. Every app and library references it automatically. You can now make class libraries of your own too.
  • Silverlight360.Https: HTTPS with TLS 1.2 and 1.3 and Mozilla's current root certificates. The console's own HTTPS only knows certificate authorities from years ago and can't reach sites like github.com any more. One line, HttpsRequestCreator.Register(), sends your app's existing WebClient and HttpWebRequest calls through it. https://digiex.github.io/Silverlight360.Https/
  • Silverlight360.UnRAR: extract RAR archives (RAR5 and RAR4, solid, encrypted and split) on the console's drives, natively, at any size. https://digiex.github.io/Silverlight360.UnRAR/

All three get native images with your app's own code: Build-XboxApp.ps1 compiles everything with XboxNGen by default, so apps run compiled instead of through the console's IL interpreter, a huge speed boost.

Silverdash360 0.2.0 uses all of them.
