Got a Pandora battery and want to run an old PSP firmware without touching the flash? Time Machine, by Dark_AleX, loads earlier official firmwares and custom firmwares straight from the memory stick. It's like DevHook, but through custom IPLs, so it still works if the PSP's own flash and NAND IPL are wrecked. That makes it handy for software that no longer runs on newer firmware, for booting a PSP whose internal firmware has died, and for testing homebrew on different firmwares.
It installs 1.50 (phat only), 1.50 with some 3.40 hardware modules (phat and slim), 3.40 OE (phat only) and 3.60 M33 (slim only).
Download:
Time Machine 0.1
Copy the TIMEMACHINE folder to PSP/GAME on the memory stick, and put the firmware files you want (150.PBP, 340.PBP, 360.PSAR) in the root of the stick. Run Time Machine from the Game menu, choose Option 1 first (it installs the IPL loader), then the option for your firmware. You can install any of them on either model, but each one only boots on the model its option names.
To boot, put the stick in and fit the Pandora battery while holding the right button: Cross for 1.50, Circle for 1.50 with 3.40 hardware, Triangle for 3.40 OE, Square for 3.60 M33.
Requirements: a Pandora battery. The installer itself needs 2.71 SE or higher, and booting a slim from the NAND needs 3.90 M33-2 or later.
Update: Pandora tools are on Digiex too: Ultra Pandora Installer and Rain's UltraLite MMS Maker. For firmware on current PSPs see PSP Official Firmware 6.61, ARK-4 CFW and Infinity.
