Vista TV Pack with Skystar USB 2 hd ci

Thanks for the information. I needed that to be able to receive satellite through Skystar USB 2 hd ci and to be displayed in Media Centre. I downloaded Vista TV Pack here and DVBViewer TE with DVB Logic following manuals but at the end I get message "No TV signal or technical problem". Sometimes this is repaired after reinstallation of DVB Logic but does not work in most of cases. When I tried with Windows 7 on the other computer, it worked OK. I checked forum on DVB Logic and it seems many users face the same problem but there seems to be no simple answer how to repair it. I am posting it here just in case somebody could help. I would honestly just upgrade to Windows 7, Media Center just works with no hacks or messing about. Yhe TV pack was only supposed to be for OEM's where as its integrated with Windows 7 and works much better. Good luck.
 
I agree with mastercheif. The TV pack was known to be very buggy, one of the reasons why most OEMs refused to even install it

I upgraded to W7 and everything now works perfectly, thanks. I just have one last question: I use PC with LCD connected via HDMI. When I shut down computer LCD unfotunately does not turn off automatically but I need to swith it off manually via LCD remote control. Is there any way how to set LCD turning off automatically when computer shuts down? There seems to be no such option in standard PC control settings and also in LCD menu settings. Many thanks.
 
Thank you InsaneNutter and Digiex for making TV Pack available and keeping it that way after all these years. There has lately been renewed interest in TV Pack among Vista die-hards in North America due to Microsoft's switch from Zap2It to Rovi for Media Center guide data, which appears to have entailed the elimination of the legacy service for XP and Vista. TV Pack allows us to use the same guide data as Windows 7 and 8.

Since support for SP1 ended in 2011 and virtually all Vista users now have SP2 installed, the question naturally arose whether TV Pack can be installed on a fully-updated Vista installation. I did exactly that one month ago, and several others running both 32-bit and 64-bit Vista have done likewise, and the answer appears to be "yes." Nothing more serious than a mysterious "wake from sleep" issue has been reported.

Rather than PlayReady PC Runtime v1.2, I would nowadays recommend v1.3 which can be downloaded directly from Microsoft.

The two Windows patches posted here are now quite obsolete, at least for anyone running SP2. The final Cumulative Update (KB977864) and a few security patches are available via Windows Update.

I'm glad the Vista TV pack is still been of use to people all these years later, I'd forgot I had posted this up.

I must admit i did upgrade my Media Center PC from Vista to Windows 7 back in 2009, which it is still on today with a quad DVB-T2 tuner. It's a real shame Microsoft discontinued Windows Media Center in newer versions of Windows as I still dont think any of the alternatives compare to it yet.

Hopefully the guide data will keep working past 2019 when support for Windows 7 ends.
