Xbox 360 NXE Dashboard Update 2.0.12606.0

Information:
The latest Kinect Dashboard Beta, released on 23/10/2010.
This does contain the avatars, however the 360 is not flashing them. (need to look into this?)

AP 2.5 checks for:

Fable III

How to install:
1.) Extract the contents of 2.0.12606.0.zip
2.) Put the $SystemUpdate folder in the root of a CD or USB Stick (Must be FAT or Fat32 formatted)
3.) Insert the CD or USB Stick into your Xbox 360 console.
4.) You will be automatically prompted to update with a USB stick, with a CD / DVD it should say Mixed Media Disc, power down the 360 and power it on again. You should be ask to update before the 360 boots to the dashboard.
5.) Once the update is complete your Xbox 360 will restart then boot up to the new dashboard. Enjoy!

Experiment: With the FFF files try renaming them back to .cab, there is a difference from the .cab online for 9199 than in the zip they provide so perhaps this is why its failing.
 
No. You only get one shot, and we are running out of time to figure it out. The release is in 3 days and we will have to wait until the next beta period to figure out what we are doing wrong if we don't figure it out. You only get one shot per upgrade since the xbox will ignore the rest of the files from the USB, once updated. I think anyway.
 
your a life saver i thought my xbox would'nt play games anymore i was like wtf just had to delete the system update folder in the usb or just take it out the xbox

If we do figure it out you should be able to add the avatars to a console that does not have them even if its updated already.

You can do that with 9199, so unless something has changed that should happen with the Kinect dashes too.
 
kinect dashboard problem.,

:'( can any1 help me plz., i updated my xbox using the usb., i updatte it with the kinect dashboard., after that., all my avatars are gone., OMG plz help me.,
 
i updated to this version and i cannot play games!

and .. many video codecs are missing!
with some videos the console freezes and i have to shutdown it @_@

Weird issue: It seems Fable III does not work with the new dashboard beta releases. The game installs perfectly to the hard drive but when you try to play it you get a "disc unreadable" error message. (game works with older dashboards)... I wonder if these are new security measures or a bug?
 
Thread cleaned, there is no 12612 dash that will offer you all the features of the Jtag hack, without doing the Jtag hack.

Its likely just a bug, although i'm guessing as Fable 3 is not out yet your console + flashed and possibly banned which could mean its some additional protection... I wouldn't panic just yet, can you play the game when its not installed?
