It’s worth mentioning this is the last version of the Dashboard before the homebrew exploit was patched, if you want to run homebrew on your 360 install this dashboard and don’t upgrade any higher or connect to Xbox Live.

This is the latest NXE which was released on Xbox Live in June 2009.

You can download this and place on a DVD (or even USB drive works) and install the NXE without connecting to Xbox Live. Great for helping friends who arent on Xbox Live experience the NXE or updating your own consoles which you don't connect to Live for any reason.

Instructions:

To create a DVD or CD:

1. Download the $SystemUpdate anywhere to your computer.
2. Place a blank disc in your burner.
From Windows Explorer, select Open Writable CD Folder Using Windows Explorer or open the CD drive icon.
3. Open (double click) the rared $SystemUpdate.rar folder and drag the contents of the zipped folder to the root of the CD Folder. If the CD write window doesn't open by default, drag and drop the folder onto the CD/DVD RW drive.

Hi guys, completely new to the Xbox 360, and was wondering if theres a way to see what version Dashboard I am running?

I have the Arcade version, with no Hdd.

What do you mean the homebrew exploit was patched from now on?

Like that the new one now Without Avatars? Great. :(

hei gyuys,im new here...well,yesterday i bought assasin creed 2,left for dead 2 and guitar hero 5...i cannot played the AC 2 and LFD 2 but the guitar hero can be played...any suggestion?oh,btw my dashboard is 7371
 
:P I feel kinda dumb to ask you this question but I really need to know since I cannot use the avatar edit menu in my gamer profile.

Totally my mistake of installing Xbreboot from old NXE.... no avatar..at all

So I would love to ask you, is it possible to update your offline NXE June 2009 over Xbreboot 8995?

If it is possible, is it also safe?

I'm not the expert on this but it would probably overwrite XBReboot over it as I think the updates with the security checks are custom aren't they?

You can get the latest update here.

It allows you to use USB drives up to 16gb in the Xbox 360 for save games, demos and so on.

I'm new to this modding - and i'm wundering, if i have to use anything else to downgrade my firmware to 2.0.7371.
I'm currently 2.0.9091 - is there anything stopping me from downgrading?

What about my savegames, will they be lost ?

Besides the fact that it's impossible to downgrade, there is nothing stopping you.
 
This thread is for people below the 7371 dashboard. Its just saying that this is the last dashboard you can have that still contains the exploit to Jtag a console.
 
So there is no way for me to Jtag my console?

Is there any other way, or do i have to feel lucky if i find and xbox for sale, with the earlier firmware?

You can purchase a Xbox with an earlier firmware or you could just look about online for people selling Jtag consoles. If you don't know much about Jtagging and aren't good at soldering and things like that, I suggest looking for a Jtag instead of trying to Jtag it yourself.
