Xbox Subtitles

I have a xbox360 and play movies over the network.

Does anyone have any idea if it can play the subtitles?

In the event that it is possible then I would not need additional divx player.

Depending on what format it is, yes.

In most cases it is .srt or .sub

You'd have to use streaming programs like Playstation Media Server, that should be able to pick up the subtitles along with the video but the 360 itself wouldn't be able to pick up the subs.
