I'm glad resetting the PSP worked, as for only been able to flash CFW on 6.20, i'm curious to see what your PSP Ident says?

Is your PSP a TA 88 v3? if so that's why you can't flash CFW on higher versions i believe, however 6.20 has an exploit which allows that to be done.

Strange it looks hackable to me, not really sure what else to suggest there.

You should be good to go on 6.20, i don't think many games at all will have problems on that firmware to be honest.

    Missing fast recovery file

    Hi!

I have bought a psp 3000 series which has already a 6.61 PRO-C installed on it. The previous owner only left the updater file on it, unfortunately the fast recovery file is missing.
If I turn off the psp, can i use the PROUPDATE file to restore the CFW? I don't really know if it's bad to use a fast recovery from a different source, but i don't want to risk.
What should i do when the psp turns off for some reason?

Just copy the files from the download at the top of this post to the PSP, you can then use the fast recovery app.

    Hey guys!
I have some questions related to this custom firmware.
Can my PSN account get banned if I install this on my psp and play ISO games with it? I have used my psn account with my psp in the past, but I have deleted it from my console and did a factory reset. So I'm not connected to the internet or the ps store.

Theirs always a risk, however its unlikely you will. You honestly don't need your PSN account associated with your PSP though in my opinion. You can buy UMD games pretty cheap and simply rip them to your memory card for a fraction of the cost you will pay for the game on the PSN.

Hello there, I just wanted to ask a question regarding what games can be ran? I apologise if the question is a bit ignorant or has already been asked, but I was wondering if anything needed to be installed to run PSP game ISO's or is it just the firmware?

    Many thanks!

All you need is the custom firmware, nothing more.

I know this is probably a dead forum , but I need to ask, do I need a pandora battery for this method to work? Also i ordered a micro sd to pro duo converter and was wondering what the best way to go about formatting it for more memory would be.

Thanks for the insanely fast reply, I just picked up a slim white 2000, so hopefully I can get this to work , just waiting on my sd to duo converter. This will work on all psps I read it right, I'm not worried about the perma install.

If you have downloaded the game from the internet its possible their a bad copy of the game, here is my tutorial on how to rip your own games: How to rip and compress your PSP UMD games. A few games have issues been compressed, if so then simply rip the game and don't compress it.

Use Hellcat Recovery Flasher v1.65 to flash an OFW then you can follow this tutorial updating to 6.60 and finally installing the CFW.

Yes, from what i remember that's the latest OFW Hellcat supports, however flashing OFW can be risky.

Maybe first try this PSP recovery pack someone put together here many years ago: PSP Recovery Pack Download - it includes the 5.00 update and a 5.00 CFW. I believe from 5.00 CFW you will have no problems updating, although it has been a long time since i did anything with the PSP, so can't be 100%. Just trying to help you the best I can.
