We don't, but if everything goes as planned, I'll be getting rom dumps from someone with all 16 US DS distro carts sometime fairly soon.
At this point, I can't 100% guarantee it due to lack of communication from the other guy, but I still find it more likely than not. We'll see. Hopefully this week or next week I'll have them or some sort of update from the guy.

Do you have a list of the distros they have that they'd be able to dump?

    ----------

I know I dumped my own three DS carts, and we decided to post all those found online that we were pretty sure are legit, but I'm still having him dump everything he has so we can have 100% confirmed legitimate rom dumps versus those unverified google roms(even though they're likely legit).

imo I don't think we can really say "all" because there are a bunch of other distros that weren't really leaked, or at least that we don't have.

For example it's highly unlikely that any of the VGC distros would ever show up.

Anyway yeah, I can't really find info on specific stores that had the local wireless event. There is this but it only says "at selected retailers." At least we know it was an actual thing, we just don't know where ;p

The Secret Key distro is interesting since it's the only distro we can really have that distributes a key item. Though I guess that isn't so different from other distros since they all just distribute a wondercard anyway.

Yeah, I guess I've been misleading. When I say all, I mean all known carts to exist, and we have all carts where documented retail location events were widespread access. I don't even know if VGC used carts or WiFi to distribute their events though?

GameStop Celebi, GameStop Shiny Beasts, and GameStop Keldeo.

I don't think it was possible at the time to have WiFi distributions that you could only download at specific locations.
It would have had to be a local wireless distribution, or at the very least, slot-2 ;p

Location-dependent distributions work in Gen. VI because the 3DS is made in a way that it can know if it's connected to specific Wi-Fi access points (be it Nintendo Zones specifically, or anything else) so they can have Wi-Fi events that only work if you're connected to specific APs. Fortunately, we can fake that.

DS was much simpler, if it was on Wi-Fi then you could download it wherever you were.

That makes since. I didn't really consider the WiFi restrictions of the NDS. Slot-2 is also plausible.

However, I'd assume a VGC event wouldn't have many carts existing due to it being very limitied. I suppose like the GBA carts.

However, I find it odd that even with all the super rare DS distro carts becoming easily(easier) obtainable after the thousands of "destroyed" carts started appearing during the summer (supposedly salvaged in China after Nintendo sent them to recycled), that none of them were VGC carts. They were all obviously those "destroyed" after being returned to Nintendo, so I'd figure they'd all be in one spot at that point. I guess maybe since there were so few, Nintendo employees held onto them. I'm sure they kept some of the other carts undamaged as well for personal souvenirs.

Since you are talking about VGC events here. Did you ever take a look into this ROM?
Zoroarks Wondercards are at 0x3CE00 (English) and 0x3D0D0 (French). You would think that's all but there's a surprise at 0x3D3A0. There you can find the Wondercards for WORLD11 Scrafty in all 5 languages!
Even though the wondercards are there, the distribution seems to be locked/disabled somehow. Setting the correct date (which is August 14, 2011 from 10:30am to 3:30pm) on the DS doesn't enable the distribution. Modifying the dates in the ROM at offset 0x3EFC0 doesn't work as well. There has to be something else which blocks the distribution. Or they just used the Scrafty ROM as a base for Zoroark and forgot to remove the wondercards.

It's very likely they did that, considering the garbage .old and .bak files in the data folder. ;p

I emailed my first contact yesterday. He said he has to find his microSD adapter so he can put the program on the R4. I can tell he's definitely not in any hurry, and I really can't force him. All I know is that he's willing and will probably get around to it eventually. If it were me, I'd do it right away, but there's nothing I can do but keep talking to him about it every so often so he doesn't end up not doing it. He says he'd try to get it done on Monday, but I wouldn't make that a confirmation of anything.

I talked to my second contact on PP.org yesterday as well. Last week he told me apparently one of the damaged carts screwed up the cartridge slot so he had to replace it. He says he replaced the cartridge slot and should have the dumps soon, so we'll see. I don't know.

There's always some kind of problem, and I sure hope no one is leading me on a wild goose chase. It's happened before. I've got something else in the works, but I won't say anything unless something actually comes from it. I don't want to make anymore promises/claims that I may not be able to follow up on.

    Edit:

LOL, I spoke a bit to soon when I said I had my doubts about this. Contact #2, aka YoshiMoshi from ProjectPokemon(I promised to give him credit), came through with his promise. Just give me time to sort it out and I'll get them to InsaneNutter asap.

Those are the European roms, right? Does that mean we'll finally be able to get the gen 5 debug/prototype Pokemon?

No those are US ones for Gen 4 and Gen 5. And these are only ones distributed, only one that was not distributed was Celebi in Gen4 (some people did get it, but officially it wasnt distributed).

I find it interesting that they all seem to be marked as v1.1, unless Decrypt9 is just weird and marks v1.0 as 01?

Eh, I guess the 01 here doesn't actually represent the version number, since every DS rom I'm looking at has 01 right after the gamecode at 0x10-0x11. Not sure why D9 would do it that way then when rom version is right there at 0x1E.
