Hi,

i have an Xbox 360 original white with a 60gb harddrive.
Now i want to replace the 60gb to a 500gb harddrive (Western Digital WD5000BEVT - 22A0RT0)

I did all the steps from here but when i want to flash the 500gb drive, i get an error "Reading HDD sector 16 failed! DRQ Error: 0x0802"

This is what i did:
Step 1:
The 500gb drive is clean and it has no partition on it.
Step 2:
I downloaded the Bootable USB Drive Creator Tool, HDDHackr 1.40 and the HDDSS500.BIN.
I've made a usb flashdrive bootable and put the HDDHackr and the HDDSS500.bin on it.
Step 3:
The computer booted from the flashdrive and i entered the following commands:
C:\hddhackr and pressed 'enter'
The tool is searching for the 500gb drive and found it.
Step 4:
I selected the harddrive (in my case it was number 7)
Then i get a menu:
What do you want to do?
[D] to dump Sectors 16-22
[C] to create Partition 0/2/3
[F] to flash Firmware
[R] to restore Firmware

i press F to flash the drive

It asks for the HDDSS file so i entered HDDSS500.BIN
then it asks for the UNDO, so i entered UNDO.BIN

Then a get a new screen with the 'Data from selected Hard Drive'

and then, i get the error...

Then i started all over again.

First i created a partition and then i want to flash the drive but im getting the same error.

I tried on different computers, but it wont work.

Who has the solution?

Thanks!

99% of problems are caused by the SATA chipset on your motherboard or BIOS configurations such as Legacy IDE not been enabled, AHCI been enabled or Raid been active. Thats where i would start and see what options you have.

I've tried on different computers but nothing works.. I have computers with AMD, NVIDIA, VIA and Intel chipsets..

Raid is disabled

Mainboards i've used:
ECS H67H2-M4 -> Intel chipset
ASRock AliveNF6G-GLAN -> NVIDIA chipset
MSI K8M Neo-V MS-7032 -> VIA chipset
Intel D915GAV -> Intel chipset
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 -> AMD chipset

Oke, i found the solution. On my ASRock computer, in the BIOS at the hard drive section i had to disable this:
LBA/Large Moge -> Disabled
Block (Multi-Sector Transfer) -> Disabled
S.M.A.R.T -> Disabled
32Bit Data Transfer -> Disabled

i tried again with HDDHackr -> Selected my drive -> Flashed with HDDSS500.BIN -> put the drive in my Xbox, at the first time i only got 4gb hard disk, then i formatted the disk in the xbox and tadaaa :) It works!

Excellent glad you managed to hack your drive! Sadly it really is down to the individual motherboard / bios in regards to what options you need to change.

Enjoy your new 500gb drive! :)
