Dash Launch 3.21 for Jtag / RGH Xbox 360's running FreeBoot

Dash Launch 2.20 for FreeBoot 9199, 12611 and 12625

At time of posting this is ONLY compatible with freeBoot versions of dashboards 9199, 12611 and 12625. Read info_launch.ini for info on options and setting launch parameters.

Whats new:

  • export option info along with the rest of dash launch info struct export
  • add multi version compatibility to installer and plugin
  • add 12625 patch set and offsets
  • new LIVE content hook patching, does auto yaris swap as well as extracted XBLA should work more consistently (hopefully)
  • added unhandled exception handler, dumps except info to UART/file and exits to dash/default item when apps don't have their own exception handler (instead of crash), disable by setting 'exchandler = false' in ini file.
  • added ini path setting (dumpfile) for capturing crash logs to a file, capture device must be connected at console boot time
  • added 'safereboot' option for those who have JTAG that have applied blackaddr's smc reboot fix, instead of 'hard' reboot
  • added option to enable debug strings to print to UART
  • adjusted patches to remove default UART hooking (less chance of string collision/overlap using DbgPrint via debug out option)
  • corrected a bug in the flasher ini update settings in regard to noupdater, it was setting nosysexit instead of noupdater value
  • added live "blocker", reroutes requests to resolve DNS names to loopback
  • added "livestrong" option to use an alternate list of DNS to block
  • added ini option to set how long buttons are watched for at boot time
  • embedding current versions external files into installer, no more messy directory; original paths still work and take priority over embedded files

How to use:

Tested and confirmed working with 12611

To install copy to your Xbox 360, then run the application with XEX Menu or FreeStyle Dash and follow the on screen instructions.

  • fixed noupdater option, readme is accurate with regards to updates now (sorry)
  • fixed dvdexitdash option, no longer conflicts with using miniblade to exit NXE, should only affect DVD launched from NXE (note this affects DVD games too)
  • fixed a glitch with unhandled exception logging when occurs in kernel
  • revert to original fileExist() method

I just installed latest version of Dashlaunch 2.21 on my jasper jtag. Everything went ok, But when I tried to reboot my console all I`ve got now is a black screen. Can anyone give me some help with this Please?
 
Did you un-plug you console for a minute or so?

I dont know if you need to do this after updating dash launch, however you do after flashing a new version of FreeBoot.
 
I just tried to play a few of my Xbox Live Arcade games on my jtag which has Dashlaunch 2.21 installed, & Some of them come up as just a black screen. I can still bring up the mini-blade guide, But nothing happens with the game. Can anyone give me a little help to sort this out please?
 
What Dashboard are you on kinkywinky and what games do not work?

Dashlaunch 2.21 will ignore the version checks and allow games that need a newer dashboard version to work, however some newer games need features that are only in the newer dashboards so will simply not work on an older dash, even with Dashlaunch installed.
 
I`m on Dashboard 12611 & my son told me about the not working xbox live arcade games on my jtag. The one I know for definite that doesn`t work is, Turtles in Time. Have you got any advice on how I can get them to work please? Thanx for your help.

I can confirm the same behavior. Although I am on 12625 with the current Dash Launch(2.21) I have this happening on both JTAG's I have.

Last night to be sure I re-downloaded it from like 3 different sources and always get the black screen after choosing to start Turtles in Time. I also found that Pinball FX 2 would complain about some update being needed and not start. So after searching I found it was because the 12625 extras were not installed, so I ran the official 12625 update from USB and Pinball FX 2 started working, but Turtles in Time still would not work.

I did try running turtles in time unlocked/locked and re-unlocked it with the same results.

I never considered that it was Dash Launch causing it, why would it be that? I have not tried it without Dash Launch in the mix yet.. Will try that later.
 
Strange indeed, I downloaded Turtles myself from live, rain it through Yaris Swap and sure enough I just get a black screen. Never seen that happen with any game before.

I'm on 12611 with Dash Launch 2.21 and the content patch built in to DashLaunch disabled.

My Dashlaunch config if its of any help:

I confirmed that by reflashing 12625 and not installing DashLaunch 2.21 this time that Turtles in time now loads without issue.

My launch.ini [settings] that I was using at the time of black screens was:

Any idea with Dash launch 2.21 what would be causing this issue? Any idea what it would take to fix this?

I have not gone through more XBOX live yet, but if there is one I am guessing there might be more effected like this by having Dash launch 2.21 installed.

Hello guys, first post here. Great source of info for noobs like me, InsaneNutters guide for updating jtag to 12611 dash saved me yesterday.

So i wanted to ask if i should use dash launch 2.21 or go with 2.20. I don't really play arcade games from live so will i run into any problems?

Go with 2.21, never had any problems here.

It does appear that turtles games doesn't work in it, but apart from that everything works fine.
