GameBoy / GameBoy Colour USB Save Game / Rom Backup

I have a question about the emulator software; is it possible to disable the ESC key shutting down the emulator? Far too often I'll instinctually hit esc to pause, only to shut down the program and loose my progress.

Visual boy advanced and its variations are the most popular gameboy advanced players, it also plays gameboy color games no problem, only thing is its no longer under development so several other people have picked it up and started adding features to it. I want to say the most up to date variation is vba-m but I might be mistaken. Also iirc its no longer possible to get the original vba directly from the person who made it, so there can be a risk getting it elsewhere instead of a variation, most notably some of the rom sites are risky.

I don't encourage using rom sites to get your roms but if thats how you've decide to do it, and there's no changing your mind, you should avoid using sites that use installers. Installers on these types of sites are notorious for giving malware and pups(potentially unwanted programs).
you know a safe place to get the emulator?

Is Windows 11 supported? Just tried to make a backup of Pokemon Crystal, but the cart flasher is defaulting to Port COM1, and giving an error. Computer can't seem to detect it either

Looking at the screenshot you provided I suspect you need to install the chipset drivers for your motherboard, you have a lot unknown devices which I suspect are also related to the USB port your cart reader is plugged in to:

You have no USB Com ports available which is the issue:

You can try installing the drivers I included in the tutorial, however I suspect you will have more luck getting things working by installing all the missing drivers for your PC.

It does work perfectly on Windows 11 though, the UK Mew Save game was dumped using Windows 11.
