GoldHEN is what you load after a PS4 exploit to get the console running homebrew. SiSTR0 (SiSTRo) wrote it as the successor to the old HEN: it patches the system and lets you run homebrew, install packages from the network, use external hard drives, plugins, cheats and more. 2.4b18 is the newest tagged release on the project's GitHub page, from October 2024, and the first to add support for firmware 10.50, 10.70 and 10.71.

Download:

Download GoldHEN 2.4b18

Alongside goldhen.bin there are PPPwn stage 2 files (pppnw_stage2) for 9.00, 9.60, 10.00, 10.01, 10.50, 10.70, 10.71 and 11.00.

New in 2.4b18:

  • Cheat Downloader (thanks to ctn123)
  • Support for firmware 10.50, 10.70 and 10.71
  • Improved rest mode support
  • Network server settings save correctly
  • The Klog server moved to userland, so it copes better with the network dropping

Features: homebrew enabler, debug settings, VR support, remote package install, rest mode, external HDD support, official external HDD format support, debug trophies, FTP server (port 2121), BinLoader server (port 9090), Klog server (port 3232), the CE-30391-6 error CMOS fix, an integrated cheat menu and FPS counter, plugin support and an internal package installer for /data/pkg.

Getting it running:

  1. Check your PS4's firmware in Settings > System > System Information. GoldHEN covers a range of versions and won't run on one it wasn't built for; the CHANGELOG lists when each was added.
  2. An exploit loads it: either a WebKit exploit or PPPwn. For PPPwn, use the stage 2 file in pppnw_stage2 that matches your firmware.
  3. Once it's running, GoldHEN starts its FTP (port 2121), BinLoader (port 9090) and Klog (port 3232) servers.

Warnings from the author: the BinLoader is experimental, and payloads that aren't made by the GoldHEN author can crash the console or do worse. Apollo, Itemzflow and Orbis Toolbox can crash the console when it enters or leaves rest mode, and the cheat menu is experimental.

If you want to send payloads by hand, see PS4 Load .bin Payloads Via Netcat. The older PS4HEN released thread is there for the history.
