there is no film called hackers 2. there is a completely different film about hackers which is called take down and is commonly referred to as hackers 2 but it is in no way a sequel of the hackers film. this is a common misconception but is not true.

I’ve always referred to takedown as “Hackers 2”

Some other good hacking films are Wargames (very old) and Swordfish

Found this list of “hacker films” Top 20 Movies about Computer Hacking And Geeks | LinuxHaxor.net might have to check a couple of them out, I never really classed the Italian Job (2003) as a hacker film but still.

im not sure about the 2nd 1, but the 1st was the old 1 with crash & burn, that was like in 1995 or something, with (a very young) Angelina Jolie, then their was a more recent 1 with some blonde guy and Rachel Leigh Cooke must've been 2001 or something like that...

the movie with rachel leigh cook is called "Antitrust" and has nothing to do with the Hackers movie. its about programmers actually, and a mythical company that's supposed to be microsoft. the blond guy is ryan phillippe.

btw, i looked at that top 20 list,and i think they came up with around 15 and filled in the rest. like the italian job and transformers. either that, or theyre very liberal with their definition of hacker. granted, hacker could be used to define anyone who circumvents or abuses any type of system, whether it be computers or safe-cracking, but thats kinda lame and not very fair to the real hackers out there.

i mean, c'mon. transformers on a top 20 list of hacker movies? that doesnt even fit with a loose definition of hacker. the closest thing to hacking he did, was try to sell some shit on ebay.
