Having issues installing a new HDD with hddhackr

Alright so I have a WD[FONT=verdana, sans-serif]5000LPVT hard drive. I have had multiple hddss.bins for 320gb versions. Basically I'm able to flash the drive, partition the drive also (I know it's not needed but still) with hddhackr. I install the drive in the xbox (both with an without the case, not that it would matter). I can feel the hdd spinning in the xbox. However it will NOT show up under storage. I am honestly lost at this point. It's flashing and partitioning successfully (or so it says) but the xbox 360 will not recognize the HDD...

FYI if I pull the drive out when the xbox is on it will reset the xbox.

I have no idea what im doing wrong?![/FONT]

Edit: to add onto this. I have written zeros to the drive overnight before I did this and it successfully passed without issue.

Did you download and use the 320gb SS from here or else where, the security sectors here are confirmed working.

The only other thing i can think of is your motherboard is not quite compatible for some reason, i presume ahci is turned off?

Welp. I tried the 320, 240, and 120 from here with no luck. The motherboard is in IDE mode.
I've used both a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H motherboard and a Gigabyte[FONT=Dosis, Gill Sans, Trebuchet MS, Trebuchet, Tahoma, Verdana] [/FONT]GA-970A-D3 motherboard at this point. tearing apart my laptop IMO isn't an option. Would it be possible that the sata port is shot on the xbox? I guess the only real way to find out is to grab a HDD from best buy for testing (and for the boot sector).

alright so...

Bought a 320GB HDD for testing, it works. Copied over the bin file from that hdd and flashed onto the current drive and still nada. So I guess the good news is the xbox isn't broken. I have an HP I have access to, I guess that is my next step.

Update: I remembered my gf's mom had a extra 320gb hdd lying around, I found it and it was on the compatible list it was a WD blue 320GB BPVT drive. Flashed the firmware and worked on the first try.

A few things: The original hdd I was having issues with was pulled from a brand new dell laptop and had zeros written to it. I have no idea if the fact that it was shipped from dell had anything to do with it but I don't think so... I guess the only thing I would question is whether or not someone else has attempted to use that HDD for hddhackr and if it actually is compatible.

Glad you eventually got a hard drive hacked, its quite possible the dell drive may have had some custom firmware or was different in some way, which caused Hddhackr to fail. Its hard to say without seeing the drive.
