How to Uncorrupt a Gamertag or Gamesave from a Banned Xbox 360

Hey I have a couple of questions. My banned xbox is a 120gb elite and I'm buying now an 250gb slim. So can I uncorrupt the files from my old hard drive and then use the transfer cable again to transfer them to my slim? Or can I copy the files I want with an usb, uncorrupt them, and then paste them in the new xbox?
And well another question. I think the new dashboard always asks you to recover you gamertag. What do I have to do? Uncorrupt my gamertag, paste it in the new hard drive and then recover the gamertag?

I'm actually not very experienced using xplorer360 except for the time I downloaded the gears of war 3 beta. Please help me.

Yes you can use a usb drive or transfer cable, it makes no difference. You just need some way to get the file on your PC.

Just un corrupt your gamertag the same as your saves.

Ok. But how do I know it worked with my gamertag. I dont want to screw it making a mistake. I uncorrupt it, transfer it to the new xbox and then recover it from xbox live?

If your gamertag is not corrupted it has worked

Remember make a backup before you do anything, then you can always restore the backup if you mess up

You transfer it to the new Xbox and that is it, no need to recover it from Xbox Live.

Oh thanks. But I have a new problem.. xD. I have all the data I want in my usb but xplorer360 says couldn't find fatx data. I have windows 7 and I am the admin? Do you know which version of xplorer 360 might work?

Use Xbox 360 USB Storage Explorer.

Presuming you have configured the drive for use in the 360 it should work fine.

As the post was origianlly written back in 2010, Is there now any way around the fact that already recovered my gamer tag on a new console?

My old console was banned for around 2 years, I finally got round to buying a new console and one of the first things I did was to recover my gamer tag.
I then realised I need a data transfer cable and thats when I discovered that the data shows as corrupt

ive followed the guide using the usb extractor and con flag says flags removed however hashblock calculator shows the last 2 blocks as false and the profile is still corrupt. not sure if it was a banned console that caused it or not and cant access the email account that it registered to recover. Dont care about the gs just the profile and live/live points registered. Any suggestions?

You can't use a banned account on XBox Live anymore, however you can uncorrupt the gamertag.

Its not banned that I know of its just corrupt and I can't uncorrupt it following this guide. I've run through conflag and when I check the hash block the bottom 2 fail. I can't recover as I can't remeber the password as it was years ago and the email account I used is no longer active
