I don't know if this is possible or not, but couldn't the Avatar assets, etc. also be leaked in the same way this was?

Look at the image in the first post, on your CD/DVD there should be a folder called $SystemUpdate with the file inside, burn that as a Data CD/DVD and follow the instructions above. I basically had the files on my usb pen as shown above, put it in and the 360 and it asked me to install it.

What software do you use to burn stuff? I call a Data CD/DVD a disk with just files on.

If you know how to burn files on to a DVD just do that as instructed above and you will be good to go.

That’s the sort of CD/DVD you want in Nero

I just use Windows to do it. Any free things?

Windows should work, you can also try ImgBurn

i got it to work thru a USB Flash Drive.

i tried it with CD and failed. the xbox seems not to read my cd?

Please will someone help me here. I got it to update no problem. My 360 Arcade (w/Halo HD) is connected via HDMI to my HDTV. When I power it on w/ the HD attached there is no audio at all for anything. Then when I take off the HD the audio works fine it seems. Once again when reattached the audio quits working again. I really don't know what to do. I wouldn't have updated had I known this was going to occur. I need my HD to play my games. Any help is much appreciated.

i installed it and i love it, however when i tried to create my avatar, it said "an update is needed for this feature", is that a problem?? or do i have to wait for nov 19th before i can use that feature, just as i have to wait for Xbox LIVE?

Just like the Divx/Xvid update you need to download the avatar stuff from Xbox Live as the avatar update is 200mb+, That’s one of the reasons Microsoft are offering Core and Arcade users a cheap 20gig hard drive.

The CD method should work fine, obviously I can’t really update again and try it, our other console is staying with the old dash so we can play Gears 2 on Live the day our pre order gets here.

I’m sure most of the people trying the CD/DVD and not having any luck must have some device such as a PSP, Mobile Phone or MP3 player that can act as a USB storage device?

Divx/Xvid update? Are you referring to the original divx update for the 360 that we got a while back or some new one that comes with the NXE?

While i'm on the subject, I've been trying to find out info about any new video formats that are supported by the NXE. Does anyone know?

I tried everything, Plus, I cannot use an iPod as a USB Storage Device since it is automatically acting as an iPod should on a 360.

Anyways, I'm getting my flash drive in a 4 hours.
