The PS4 gets the same kind of toolchain as the PS5, and this is it. ps4-payload-sdk is the kit for writing payloads for an exploited PS4: a cross-compiling toolchain built on clang 18 and lld 18, the system headers and libraries, and helper scripts such as orbis-clang, orbis-cmake and orbis-deploy. It's known to work with ELF loaders including remote_lua_loader and ps4-payload-dev's elfldr.
Version 0.9 adds the PAYLOAD_DEPLOY option to CMake, makes lld leave out -pie when -r is present, and adds kernel_mprotect() for firmware 5.03, 5.05, 5.07 and 9.00.

Update: the same project makes a PS5 version too: ps5-payload-sdk.

- On Debian or Ubuntu, install what it needs: sudo apt-get install bash clang-18 lld-18 (and, optionally, socat cmake meson pkg-config). The project page has the Fedora commands.
- Unzip it, for example in /opt, and set PS4_PAYLOAD_SDK to the ps4-payload-sdk folder.
- Build a payload and send the ELF to a PS4 that's already running an ELF loader.
