Use this with HDDHackr 1.22 to hack a 2.5” 250gig SATA drive to work in the Xbox 360.

Works with the following Western Digital Drives:
- WD Scorpio Series BEVS/BEAS
- WD Scorpio Blue Series BEVS/BEVT
- WD Scorpio Black Series BEKT/BJKT
- WD VelociRaptor Series

Download Xbox 360 250GB Hard Drive Security Sector

Download HDDHackr v1.22 Build 20091022

Download Xplorer 360 250gb Edition

Xplorer 360 250gb Edition can be used to copy content from your pc to your new 250gb drive.

InsaneNutter has now finished his guide on How to hack a 250gb sata drive to work in the 360.

Anyone know if its possible just to buy the shell of a 360 hard drive?
I don’t have a drive to “upgrade” just an arcade console so im starting with nothing.

Cheaper than expected, and I will even get a 20gig drive with it.
Thanks, I can finally help Digiex out with uploading some demos.

i buying

WESTERN DIGITAL WD 250GB 2,5" Scorpio Black WD2500BEKT, SATA/300, 7200ot, 16MB cache"

its this hdd ok ?

It should be fine! From what I gather any 2.5” 250gig western digital drive out at the moment is compatible.

The HDDHackr read me states WD Scorpio Black Series BEKT/BJKT drives work fine.

Were you able to get it to work with the WD2500BEKT? I'm about to buy one myself to try to expand my console.

Has anyone been successful replacing their 20G or 120G for a 250G so far? If so please provide HD model.

Thanks (H)

I replaced my original 20gig drive with a 250gb WD Scorpio Blue drive (WD2500BEVT) and have had no problems.

Its best thing i ever did for my Xbox 360, ive installed about 26 games and still have about 80-90gigs free!

Its so nice having a piratically silent 360 now :D

No problems with Xbox Live, been playing online with my 250gig drive for a few months.

Its unknown if Microsoft can actually detect this or not, they blocked the unofficial memory cards by Datel... i guess that was pretty obvious when you had an 8gb+ memory card in the 360 when the maximum you can buy is 512mb

This looks like a legit 250gb drive to the 360, the only thing Microsoft might be able to detect is that a lot of people are using drives with the same serial number... people say the 360 carnt read the serial number anyway.. but who knows.

Im sure if anything ever happed a work around would be found pretty fast, Datel have found a way to get the memory cards working that were blocked by the Fall 2009 update.

Thank you.

I'm not a gamer but my grandson wants an upgrade to his xbox. I was looking at the hack for a WD 120GB & found your post. Looks like the way to go.

Also have looked over ebay and a few Chinese sellers are offering 250 GB for around $90-100, 120 GB for $60-65. Checked one and they have feed back for 20 or so 250 Gb & 30/more 120 GB in the last month - no complaints and supposedly has a 3 year warranty.

Has anyone opened one of these up to see if it has a WD hard drive? I understand that WD drives are made in Thailand and I'd suspect that's what they're using (same 3 year warranty). At that price, it might pay to order one rather than do my own.

My question then would be is there any difference in quality between drives made for the western market & drives for the Asian market? One concern, regardless of who makes the drive in the product from China, how would you get warranty service?

open what up? what are you talking about you need to buy a internal 2.5 hard drive. what ever warranty they give you at your retailer.

The majority of drives sold by eBay members in china are hacked western digital drives, just be cautious as a few people have said hacked drives purchased from eBay have not had the partition 2 restored, this basically contains the emulator and backwards compatibility updates to allow Xbox 1 games to be played on the Xbox 360. Drives that dont have this can not play old Xbox games on the 360.

As for the warranty I guess you would have to post it back to them if you ever had any problems and they would fix / replace it.

Whow, it worked perfectly. Got my 250 gig drive at B Buy for $60.00. I would not work on first PC with silicon ata controller but worked on the second with Nvidia controller. Plus I used a floppy disk instead of thumb drive.

Hi, for some reason I'm unable to download the 250GB security sector? anyone else having this problem??

Hey :)

I'm wondering if the HDDHackr will only work with WD Scorpio and Velociraptor drives?

I have a 250gb Toshiba as I recently updated my laptop to a 640gb hard drive. My question is- if HDDHackr doesn't work is there some other way I can flash this drive in a similar manner to make it work in my 360?

Thanks :D
