Xbox Offline Xbox Live Downloadable Content [DLC] Installers

I'm working on the Unreal Championship 2 fixes.
Issues:
-There are 2 different NTSC versions with 2 different update files. So the next installer will have 2 separate updates. One or the other should work. (like the halo 2 installer)
-There are multiple versions of this game with different titleID's. I'm re-compiling the content for the alternate Titleid. So there will be 2 installers, and unless I get a disk with the 2nd titleid, there will be no update file for the second installer.

For now the best fix it just to delete the update file if it's not working properly.
Look in e:\tdata\4D570021\ delete $u from that folder, while you may miss some Update features, you WILL have the dlc and a working game. The Update breaks the game (if it doesn't match your game version) the dlc does NOT break the game.

I've completed the Xbox Music Mixer DLC installer with all the current xbox live content available for that game. I need some testers to play with it and make sure it works 100% and that there are no other issues. So PM me if you'd like to try it out.

I also managed to snag a copy of Hunter the Reckoning: Redeemer today, and got the DLC.

As for johnodd4's comment. To avoid any conflict in Mechassault and Splinter Cell, simply create a new savegame and DO NOT save over the Linux profile. I've personally JUST tested this with both games, with updates installer and had no issues. If you DO experience issues, just delete the $u folder from the game's folder in e:\tdata\. That will remove the update but leave the DLC.

As for Republic Commando. It's not a single player level, it adds on to your multiplayer maps. Not terribly useful unless you have friends who you play Republic Commando on multiplayer VS with. And yes testing it running around alone in the shuttle bay was incredibly boring.

Finally: all new installers will include a https://digiex.net link instead of http://xbox.com, and will have a new splash screen during loading sequences.

Man, I'm trying to get working the PGR2 DLC, but it doesn't work. But it shows up on MS Dash? Is it for NTSC version? (I've Downloaded UC, Halo 2 & CS DLCs and they work and my game's are PAL)

Sorry PAL users, as my readme says "Our content is only as good as our supply" If you get me PAL dlc or a PAL retail, I'll make a PAL installer. For now I would suggest acquiring an NTSC copy of the game.

Well, looks like I'll have to find a NTSC Copy. ¿If I Put a language file of the PAL version of PGR2 on the NTSC version, it'll work? I've redone the spanish files completely .

Oh, I forgot to say that i'm expecting the new DLC Packs ^^

I'm not sure if your translation copy will work or not. In my experience, custom work doesn't always work with new DLC. But I could be wrong in this case.

As for more installers. I have an Xbox Music Mixer one ready to go, I just need people to test and ok it before I add it to the "DLC Update Pack"

alright. i know this isn't 100% related (it's like 2%). what EXACTLY does the the halo 2 1.5 update do? i looked everywhere and i can find nothing about it. but i downloaded it from xbox live so it is certainly official. why is it so obscure?

The halo 1.5 update fixes all of the graphic issues and holes in the game this update was only availible via xbox live only you couldn't get it any where else.

Is it possible to install these files on an unmodded xbox, either through the use of an xbox that is modded or through ftp:// ?

I have 2 xboxs. One is modded with the softmod (dash: unleashX) and the other is untouched.
The xbox that is modded is technically not ours thus playing the games with the dlc on it is out of the question. The untouched one is where I play the games but I cannot get the DLC via xbox live. I considered moding this xbox but the true owner of the untouched xbox refuses to mod it (but still wants the content).

I don't think it is possible. Unless you could somehow transfer the DLC content from the modded to a Xbox Memory Card, then put it on the unmodded. Why doesn't the owner want the Xbox modded? Everything is better when you mod it.

Nope the Xbox has to be modded, if your just after the Halo content that’s all free on Xbox Live now.

You could softmod the Xbox, install the content, then remove the softmod. The content should remain on the console then.

i tried for midtown madness and all its ok, but when i come to play,(with a copy in my hd) he say ~~ The ... file is broken or tralala...~~

If i try with game disc, it will be ok???

But i want to play multiXbox with my cousin. He dont have the game!!!

For installing DLC on an unmodded console.
Install a Krayzie Ndure 1.1 or 1.1.1 softmod, and install the DLC. Then run the exploit again, (Splinter Cell, Mechassault, 007 AuF etc) and then use the option to "Turn off softmod". It's the quickest and easiest way to accomplish what drag0nscythe is looking for. If he doesn't want to mod his console, well then tough luck.

As for: Toxedo-toxic
You didn't tell us HOW you transfered the DLC to the console. If you're using FTP, make sure it's NOT set to ascii mode. Or try using SMB shares from within XBMC. Make sure you delete the old content before trying to install it fresh. For Midtown Madness 3 browse into e:\tdata\4d53002a\ and delete EVERYTHING. Or use the stock xbox dashboard memory blade. Some game managers in dashboards like XBMC or UnleashX can't handle DLC properly. It's a fault of the dashboard, NOT the DLC.

Chances are changing from HDD to disk will not fix the issue, as it's a damaged content, or bad signature issue. Delete the broken content, copy the installer back over to the xbox via a windows share, or via FTP with the transfer mode set to binary, and reinstall it.

In the /E/TDATA/4d53002a, i deleted all and recopied the folder of the app $c $u. It do the same!! I try for halo 2 and brother in arms Road to the hill 30, it work!!!!!

Well thats really not a whole lot better, you're also really not describing your issue or what steps you've taken to fix it very well.

Just to be clear. You DO NOT directly copy the content from the $u and $u folders in the installer to your tdata folder. That will result in having unsigned content.


The fact that you managed to get halo 2 and other games working tells me that it's likely your game that's the issue. The DLC is frrom an NTSC game, and oddly enough I've never heard of region errors regarding it before.

My best advice would be to try to find another copy of the game to work with.

Good news for you PAL users. A good friend of mine 500amps in Australia has created an Xbox Live account and is downloading DLC from PAL games. if you want a PAL version of the DLC from a certain game, beg borrow or buy a retail game and send it down to one of us. We would be happy to build an installer for you.

Please remember, that the accounts, games and everything else cost us money, which frankly neither of us have. So this whole project is user driven.

thanks Harcroft I was just posting to let the users here know that I have teamed up with you too try and help complete this project,

I beg any PAL original owners to help us - if you PM me I can arrange for you to get the games to me and then returned to you, all we can offer is a credit note to your name in the installer package.
It would be a shame for us not to be able to complete the installers, even if you don't want to send us the games we would be happy to get the DLC from you if you can get it.
I cant imagine that this content will be on the XBL servers for ever so rather than losing it forever why not help us out to allow future retro gamers to have the same content that we have had the opportunity to enjoy.
similar to how many people use MAME and 8 bit machine emulators to play games from the past using rom images (that are no longer for retail sale)

Think of it like a content preservation service - both harcroft and myself do have other things to do in our lives but being like minded we have now teamed up to try and deliver the content to the world for all to enjoy, I do feel that users of this forum obviously are excited to see this new content and bring something new to an old console, so once again I beg you to help us out

I like to know is the Unreal Championship 2 DLC pack an PAL or some other version, because the last time i download UC2 DLC pack it freezed my game and the second queston is can you use new characters and maps if you dont install the patch?
