YES!!!

I haven't gotten it to work quite yet. But when I copied the Data_dvd and Data_hd over from my flash drive (don't have an FTP and no way to set up one at the moment) it just replaced the existing ones. So I am going to bring them both over to my computer, unzip, combine, rezip and then put it back. That should work.

How did you do it NemVitzh??

Copy the entire original MM3 game to your Xbox hard drive.

On your computer, extract the mm3-dlc.zip (using win-zip ... says you must use winzip in readme ... not winrar or another program) and place the "Shared\Cars\" directory into the "Games\MidtownMadness3\Shared\Cars\" on your xbox hard drive. So basically your adding all the "car201" type folders to the existing car data in the shared folder.

Secondly, on your computer copy the Data_hd.zip and Data_dvd.zip files (from the copied game disc) over to your computer's hard drive. Again, using winzip, extract the files and merge them similar to what you did in the first step. Just add the files provided in the mm3-dlc.zip to the Data_dvd/Data_hd folders staying within the file structure.

Once you have merged the directories, use winzip to pack it all up back into Data_dvd.zip and Data_hd.zip. FTP those two files over to your xbox (replacing the originals) and you should be good to go!


If you have problems for some reason, I have uploaded the edited Data_dvd.zip/Data_hd.zip files to my server. However, I don't want to post them as it's pretty much the whole game. PM me and I'll contact you with the links.
 
My buddy and I were just doing UC2 testing on Xlink today and it seems the title update (the newest installer) breaks system-link, you join the game and you get stuck in loading. Normally when you join game you get loading then it says press fire to ready up or what ever, so it freezes right before the part when you ready up.
We tried disabling the title update (adding a number to the $u folder) even if you use that disable trick the title update is still active. We cleared the cache after disabling of course.

Deleting the $u folder altogether fixes this, so next release of the installer you should ditch the title update all together. To avoid these headaches

IIRC you had to log in then go through the front end menu to get it. I'd make it available if I could but unfortunately I want to keep my Xbox stock for sentimental reasons...is there a way to FTP Xbox DLC without taking the thing apart and/or modding it?

You could copy it to a memory card and mail it to someone who has a modded xbox so THEY can FTP it and share it with the world?
 
Ok I'm here, yeah I know I haven't posted forever.

First things first: No I'm sorry I haven't done anything for a few months. Pretty much since my netbook arrived. I was gaming on that and dealing with some real life things. Also Fight Club and MM3 really pissed me off. Especially as MM3 worked before when I first made the installer in 2007. Then my cousin had a baby, so my wife and I have been helping where we can with that. She's adorable and I think my wife wants to babysit every day heh.

I will get back on it when I find some free time between real life, and light gaming.

hobojoe44 I got your message and immediately responded to you with several troubleshooting steps. But you never got back to me. Chances are you and your bud have different versions of the game. SEVERAL different versions of the retail disk were released, so several different rips are around the net. Sys link works 100% here with 3 xbox's running the same version of the game, and the latest TU. I will not remove the TU's from the installers, some people want them, and they really are a part of the history of xbox live. If you don't want 'em, just don't use 'em. That's the easiest thing to do.

Master13 I downloaded all of your updates. I will need the default.xbe from each game to finish the installers. Next time please just throw it all in one pack. It's not hard to separate into folders, and just use one zip or rar. Thank you so much for the addition though, rosters from the very last 2 xbox games that ever came out. VERY cool :)

KanYozakura I believe I've given you a fairly easy method to FTP off the content without actually modding your console in any way. That being said a softmod requires no console opening. Basically just download a softmod save and get a retail of the game that it matches up with. Copy it to your console via a memory card, and run the exploit. Setup the FTP server in the first softmod menu, if that doesn't work use the FTP server in the backup eepprom menu. FTP content to your local PC. Then shut down the xbox. You're still 100% stock, as the softmod installer was loaded, but not run. You can even delete the softmod save then.

nmagod Title Updates, DLC and even a few savedgames cannot be copied to a memory unit via the Xbox Blades menu. MS locked it down so you can't share anything with friends.

When I get back on the project, I'll finish all those roster updates everyone sent me, then start working on converting the installers to work on 360 properly. Still need to get my 2nd jtag console running for testing. Anyone know a good reballer that will do a zephyr for cheap?

Yes I know of the shitty prototype a lot of people have got from the net (it doesn't have voice and has a differnt Tile ID) but both my friend and I are useing are retail discs, I'm in Ontraio and he's in the UK.
We can play fine togather with out the TU but with the TU it breaks system-link. I don't know if the problem is from my side or his but I just think you should add to the read me on the next release that the TU may break system-link with some peoples copy of the game.

sorry about the multiple downloads
right now I'm having a problem with my xbox it's flashing Christmas colors red and green and can't supply the xbe
but can't you put them in action replay than on a memory card and put on the xbox? I'll try to get my problem fix and see if i can find anymore content and thanks for everything Harcroft you and everyone else for they're contributions and keeping the original xbox experience alive
 
scratch my question i read your post i'd just thought i'd ask since i could put it on action replay and my memory card didn't try my xbox because my problem stated in above post
I'm up for suggestions to fix my problem

What you have is called a FRAG. Flashing Red and Green error. In my experience it's from a bad soldering job, or bad eeprom. It can also be potentially caused by a loose or bad ide cable or power cable on the board, hdd or dvd drive.



Try that, or google for other "Xbox FRAG" problems and solutions
 
thanks for the quick reply I thought had something to do with the soldering time to break out the solder kit;)
 
By bad soldering, I meant bad soldering by the end user. Like shorting a USB power or data line out, grounding the wrong eeprom or bios chip lead etc.
 
:) Hey guys! I thought I would make my first post. First off, with the Midtown Madness 3 DLC. I read a few pages back the link that deiter posted. Also with NemVitzh posting that it works. IT DOES INDEED WORK! Pretty neat to finally have the content working. Just the new cars in the selection screen of the game don't show their names/info, but it's ok. I'm really happy for Yallis making the content and reuploading it for a working link. I should make an account on Midtown Madness 2 Central to thank him. :)

As of right now, I'm looking for working content for Project Gotham Racing 2. I have the PAL version of the game. The content available here does install through the installer as well as the update. Showing content in the right folder of TDATA. But I can't seem to see the new cities in the game. As for cars, haven't gone further into checking yet. But a long while back in this thread, someone posted that it's NTSC only. :( If anyone can confirm this and if there's a way around it? If not, may have to wait and see for PAL DLC of PRG2.
 
can any1 comment on the Unreal Championship2 Title update? i have the NTSC retail disc of the game and it freezes on start-up. The DLC works fine, just not the update. And when i was hosting a LAN game a friend was unable to play (froze up when he tried to spawn for the first time)

The Original installer release title update makes the game freeze on start-up. the newest installers releases are in this post https://digiex.net/downloads/downlo...able-content-dlc-installers-27.html#post26189


Did your friend freeze up just before "press ready" shows up? If he has the title update on his xbox then is sounds like the same problem I had when playing.
