Hack a 250gb, 320gb or 500gb Sata harddrive to work in the Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 Slim

I have an 80gb WD800BJKT. The article says that this particular drive has been tested yet the article doesn't provide the 80gb security sector (unless I missed it within the thread). I really don't hope I have to go down to the 60gb one because by the time the Xbox gets ahold of it, itll wind up only having 50gb or so free. Halp!

I wouldn't use the 120gb on an 80gb drive, presuming it works i imagine at some time you will end up antecedently using more space than you actually have on the drive, which will possibly corrupt everything.

Use the 60gb security sector and stay safe.

I know this is kind of anal, but has anyone created stickers or something that display the right hard drive size on the shell for the 360 fat external hard drive? It would be cool to update the shell to say 500GB.

I see from some posts on the last couple of pages that people have had some trouble with WD5000LPVX drives.

Can anyone confirm with models of WD5000LPVX work and which ones don't?

I have hacked one and it works fine.

Thanks. Do you know which model of that drive you have? (if you can find it without taking it out of the enclosure of course) There should be a set of numbers after the LPVX.

If I can't find out, I guess I can just take a shot and try one anyway. I think chances are that it will work.

Has anyone had any luck using a WD Blue WD7500BPVX 750GB drive? Newegg has them on sale today for $50 after coupon, so figured that'd be a great price to get a huge drive for my Xbox 360. Thanks!

I was unable to get my laptop to boot HDDHACKR, it also wont let me format my flash drive as FAT, as FAT32 it boots to the millennium but typing HDDHACKR and hitting enter does nothing :(
