Hi everyone, I have some big news to share! I have just released Xbox 360 HDD Maker - a new/free FATXplorer tool designed to modify the firmware of Western Digital HDDs to make them Xbox 360 retail-compatible.

Xbox 360 HDD Maker is a full HDDHackr replacement that works on Windows desktop and even over USB! This should be a massive help to everyone in this thread.

Full information is here. If you have any issues with it, feel free to message me directly and I can try to help.

That's some impressive work @Eaton, congrats on the release.

It's great to see a modern tool making this process possible on current hardware in 2024, especially over usb! the hardest part I suspect will be finding a drive that was manufactured before 2020.

There should be plenty out there. For 2.5" drives there may be some flexibility around the dates. We'll have to see what users report. :)
