Hi everyone, I have some big news to share! I have just released Xbox 360 HDD Maker - a new/free FATXplorer tool designed to modify the firmware of Western Digital HDDs to make them Xbox 360 retail-compatible.

Xbox 360 HDD Maker is a full HDDHackr replacement that works on Windows desktop and even over USB! This should be a massive help to everyone in this thread.

Full information is here. If you have any issues with it, feel free to message me directly and I can try to help.

That's some impressive work @Eaton, congrats on the release.

It's great to see a modern tool making this process possible on current hardware in 2024, especially over usb! the hardest part I suspect will be finding a drive that was manufactured before 2020.

There should be plenty out there. For 2.5" drives there may be some flexibility around the dates. We'll have to see what users report. :)

I have been trying to use my hardrive but i think it is not an official harddrive... do i need an official one to mount the partition? I installed the partition 2 and Xplorer extreme and both applications seem to be working, i dont have an official transfer cable i got a sata to usb connector cable that seems to work, but it says there is no FATX harddrive connected.

I decided not to experiment and bought a disc from the list of supported WD3200BEKT-75PVMT0
with the Wdidle3 I set the parking for 300 seconds, and successfully flashed it according to the instructions from the header. Everything worked great, thank you for the tutorial.
I have a question, any advantages of an increased cache of 16 MB compared to 8 MB original disks, and 7200 rotation against 5400 rpm, which revision of SATA in xbox360 uses? (SATA I/SATA II)
do you have the undo.bin for this drive modle
