If the file is there it should work, try deleting them all and just dropping one in again. A bit of a strange one that but im sure the 360 should at least pick up one of the files in there.

Thanks for the help InsaneNutter, I also did a little research and found out that Visual Basic 6 runime needs to be installed in order for x360 Tool to work.

If anyone else is having the problems I had that link solved it for me.

    Applying updates?

I have been able to connect to my hard drive and dump title updates onto it and have been having a decent enough time finding the title updates that I want, but when I start up the games the updates do not give me the progress bar or the message that an update is available for them. Is there possibly something I am doing wrong here?

You only get that when your connected to Xbox Live, as you already have the update your not asked to download / install it.

Look at the very first line in the original post, i linked to two other devices on Amazon UK that you can use to connect the hard drive to the PC, buy this: Datel 360 Xport -Docking Station (Xbox 360): Amazon.co.uk: PC & Video Games

The newer official data migration kits work with 250gig drives, the older ones don't. I got one in September 2009 from MS which worked perfectly.

Same question here as ElMarrueco and dmdk. Let me give you some details on my inquiry.

I do not have XBL, I have been banned, I have installed the recent "USB enabling" update, I am currently using USB XTAF GUI to install content onto my xbox hdd.

That being said....I have downloaded some DLC such as the RE5 Add-Ons as well as the Borderlands extras. I hear that in order to play these I would need the "Title Update" for them. Now, where exactly do I place these TU's once I have dl'd them (which I already have), and in which SPECIFIC folder path, i.e. "0000000000000000"> blah blah blah> blah blah, etc?

I have tried placing them in a folder labeled $Title Update and in one labeled Cache and each time nothing shows up on the xbox and nothing changes. Sorry for being so detailed but better to ask your complete question the first-time around than to get an incomplete answer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

As far as im aware the programs out at the moment carnt save title updates on USB.

You can also not pirate DLC, its locked to the console / gamertag it was originally downloaded on.

Actually, I am having a sudden problem with the updates as well. It seems that ever since I updated to 9199 (the update that brings USB memory card support) none of my title updates are detected. I tried clearing the cache and reinstalling them, but that didn't work either.

Im having a hard time adding TU's to a banned xbox....I'm able to put the TU file on my cache in my hard drive after I verified with the 360 tool then when I start the game it doesn't ask me to update & when I play Madden 11 or NCAA 11 I don't see the changes that are supposed to be there.

When you manually inject a title update to a hard drive / usb device it will never ask you to update, some games such as Halo might display a version number depending on the title update you have.

Multiple title updates can exist for the same game, for example with Mafia 2 the game has two versions from different regions. One version has the media id of 3B0818A1 and the other 32DFB07A

You need need the title update for the version of the game you have.

You can use this tutorial, just ensure you use the version of Xplorer 360 for the size of the hard drive in your console.
You can also FTP title updates to a jtag, I might have to do a tutorial on that sometime.

Is there any program for Mac OSX? I don't own windows-based computer. It seems like that Explorer 360 program is windows only?

Does this method work on all Xbox 360's, or is it J-tag only?

I have another question. I think my Xbox 360 HDD is dying (it's freezing a lot lately), but I can't go on Live anymore. But I want to keep the "Optional Media Update" that I need to play movies on my 360. Is there any way to transfer the "Optional Media Update" with the Microsoft Transfer Kit to my PC and then back to a new harddrive, or is this not possible?

This works for all Xbox 360's, the only way to get the Optional Media Update is to download it from live using your own console.
