Hello All,
As many of you may remember, we use to have a really active Minecraft server back in the day, and at one point we reached rank 39 on the top minecraft servers, and number 3 for a UK based server. Sadly those great days are gone as Minecraft continued to be the same and over the year players got bored and moved on. That led to our public server being closed and us providing a private server for our previous players for a period of time. Sadly that even died down and our server regularlly was dead most of the time besides the odd player when they were bored. Then back in the end of March the server hosting our game died and due to the lack of interest at the time it was gone for a long period of time.
To be perfectly honest, we thought that was it for the time and we were retiring Digiex from the Minecraft Server area. However due to a recent discovery of a spare extreme low power PC and a few resistant players (mainly Jessenic and Nitvit) they managed to convience Digiex to bring it back online with the same maps from before at little cost to us (About $15 to host for a whole year). As such, the server (private invite only one) is now back and available to use once again!
We should note this is now mostly in an unmanaged state, Admins will rarely be on, and if they are they are likely playing to build, not admin. Due to the nature of the minecraft community being mostly dead at this point we are happy to allow any of our existing players to invite their friends into the server to join in the fun. As such, the policy for joining is you have to be invited from an existing player, that is the only requirement.
The Building Regulation Doc (Available here: https://digiex.net/general-discussi...ations-v1-2-updated-27th-december-2011-a.html ) still sort of applies, however being honest it should be seen more as guidelines now on how to be a good player as its unlikely we will be enforcing any of them except for griefing which will still be met with not only a ban, but being globally banned on McBans which will affect your ability to play in many servers and use a variety of tools (including our very own version switching tool).
As such, for any of our players who still wish to play they may, and even invite any of there friends (note: you will need them to post in this thread so we can whitelist there username before they can join, this stops drive by griefers). This in turn should be seen more of a safe server to play with a few friends if you wish, please do not expect the old glory days of 20 people online at any one point and a thriving economy and community. The server will be lonely most of the time unless you bring your friends on!
As such, there is one promise we have with this server. We are running daily backups (at 4am) and if the server dies for any reason and isnt coming back, we will be making the maps publically available right on this website to be downloaded allowing you to continue to use your buildings. As such, Digiex is a safe place to build your master peices knowing you won't loss access to them.
So what are you waiting for? Invite your friends and enjoy a nice relaxing game on Minecraft on Digiex!
