Digiex's UT 2004 Server

I find it depends on the time of year, typically between Nov - May it's really quite busy, it's also normally dead by 11pm UK time because it's normally a UK/euro mix of players
 
I was looking on game monitor and it appeared to have only ever had 3-4 people in it over the last month. Just wondered if it was broken or something as i remember people were always in it until it became laggy. If its all working fine then fair enough :)

I had around 30 ping when playing yesterday, totally forgot how fun it was playing UT so you should randomly find me in there again. It was a lot more fun when real players joined, had some very close 2v2 games with bots.
 
I've not experienced any of those laggy moments we used to have in quite a while to be fair.
 
A couple of updates have been done to the server (which I thought I had done a long time ago, my bad!)

  • Two new maps Gorge uploaded have been added, VCTF-House-LD and VCTF-Shoebox-LD.
  • There should now also only be one version of the Spookyville map in the cycle.
  • Kickvote has also been enabled by request, at the moment 70% of the people in the game need to vote to kick the player in question. This can be changed if people feel it is too high or low.

I hope people continue to enjoy the server, I know none of the server admins really play the game anymore, however do post comments, suggestions or problems in this thread and i will try to deal with them.
 
This version works perfectly and is now on the server and redirect, it must have been corrupted when uploaded via FTP.

If anyone is still interested in the UT server it is now hosted on my home server, i have a 100mbit down / 5mbit up connection with Virgin Media (UK), this should increase to 120mbit / 10mbit later this year, or early next year.

I imagine even 5mbit upload should be ok for 14-16 players on the server, if it was to ever reach that.

It was a good portion of my youth.

Might hit up Omnipotents since that's been around since I could remember.
 
Yup the server is still going at 86.3.73.18:7777 as per the first post. Sometimes a few people randomly play in it, however its never full like it was a few years ago.

I'm not sure how good your experience will be if your outside of Europe however.

GrandCanyon is a little bit boring.

I made for me a new version : 1 more Manta/team, bots can now use ALL vehicles, bridge larger for tanks battles, ...

The new map is on FTP
 
Thanks for the updated map Gorge, I have added it to the server and redirect. Appears to work well!
 
I'm not sure why, but recently when you join, you get a prompt 'UT2004.exe - no Disk
"There is no disk in the drive. please insert a disk into drive D:"

I'm not entirely sure why this would be, no other server asks for the disk to be present. Bug or a changed setting?

When you try to join or when you launch the game ?
Maybe, you have to install the 3369 patch...
 
It's when I join the game, the patch has long been installed, it's only doing it on the digiex Server. Nowhere else asks me. If I hit 'continue' 2x it goes away, but it comes back every time I join the server.
