How to extract / dump title updates (patches) to and from a 360 USB memory stick

hi, im a new user here. ive downloaded the fallout 3 title update 3 from digiex, and it works great in my usb. But my question is not that...

Im planning to buy a 60gb hard drive. Do i need to inject the title update again to be able to use it, or just leave it and copy my save data only ( ive put some saves there )?? I still need it for the achivement of broken steel, and operation anchorage. Please help me. Some user said just leave it, other said inject it. Im confuse

If you leave the USB drive connected to your Xbox 360 it will load the title update from there, if you dont want to leave the USB drive connected you must inject it in to the hard drive.

Hope that helps.

I have a problem getting this to work. Game wont use TU, no matter where I inject it - USB or HDD. The file is there, but game wont use it. Game in question is mk9, and i successfully patched it on friend's xbox (fat model) by injecting TU to HDD. On my xbox it's simply not working. I have a slim version of xbox, 4Gb model with aftermarket 250 HDD.

"the game will now use the title update if no hard drive is connected to the console."

how are you suppoed to make this happen? the part where the hard drive isnt connected that is ^^

What Game ? Most of the TU's go into the cache folder on hdd or the USB flash drive .

Ive done this more than 6 times and still, the update doesnt show up on the usb on my xbox <.< is it because the pen is 4 GB?

yap, 100 GB if im not mistaken.

Also, nothing shows on the usb when i check it on my pc. ( besides the xbox360 folder).

This is the only thing that appears on my pen when i browse it on my pc. Even after i inject it with the update.

Ok , what i suspected was true , the Fallout TU 5 goes in another folder.
Put the 425307E0 into the 0000000000000000 folder on the Data Partition .

The Data Partition should have a folder called : 0000000000000000
If it doesn't have that folder , then create it .

Let me know if it works !

Game in question is MK9. I removed internal 4Gb flash memory from my xbox, that didn't help in patching. When I inject TU on USB stick it just gets deleted when game launches.
