What did you choose for ROM save type?

If you have set the save type as above when creating the CIA I suspect the rom you are using to build your CIA might have been patched to save on some older flash cards, you need to use a clean untouched rom if so.

Thanks for the help. Download some new roms and it works now.
 
when I try to download from database an error shows up saying "The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel", any help on this?
 
Hi, I feel like I followed the steps exactly, even doing a video reference as well and I’m still having trouble getting it to work where I can load/inject saves from my cartridges onto the 3DS VC of the Game Boy Advance Pokémon Games. When I get to the part where it says to inject, it says it failed, and yes I made sure to start the game first. I even played one of the games to the point of getting the Pokédex and saved it in game and then closed it out before continuing the process and it still didn’t work. I am able to dump the save oddly enough, though I haven’t tried to use it back on an emulator or cartridge to see if it would work. I noticed that when I try to use Checkpoint that none of the GBA VC games are showing up like the other games do. Not sure if that makes a difference, but there it is.

Checkpoint and other saves managers do not support GBA inject saves. GBA games are not emulated like other VC games. The 3DS essentially has GBA hardware built in, so the save is elsewhere.

See 3DS GBA Save Backup and Restore with GodMode9 for info on how these are backed up.
 
I looked at the guide already and followed everything step by step to my knowledge. I can get the original saves to restore if I dump them it’s just the saves from other sources I can’t get to work.

What saves as an example? you can't restore gameshark snapshots for example, you'd need to convert it to a normal save.
 
I'm trying to do this for pokemon emerald but it says ROM save type unknown what do I do about this?
 
Its possible you could have a modified rom, however you should choose Flash 1mbit + RTC for the save type.

Is it the best way to inject GBA games into 3DS ?

Or are there more efficient ways ?

I am using the beta26 as recommended in the guide.
 
I'm pretty sure no other tool gives you more options than this one, 128k saves and RTC support used to be a problem, however not anymore. Most injected games should run pretty much perfectly in my experience.

My son started to play pokemon Leaf green
on an original cartridge on Gameboy Advance SP.
I have dumped the rom and backed up to PC via my chinese dumper for GBC/gba. I created a CIA with the rom via NSUI.
I installed the CIA on the 3DS. I launched the game and made a save.
I replaced save on 3DS with Godmod9.
When I launch the game, I get a message telling me that the save has been deleted and the game start at the beginning.
How to make original save inject working please?

What size is the original save you have dumped, is it 64k or 128k?

If its 64k then your Chinese dumper has not dumped the whole save which will be the issue.
 
Hello,

I Tried to load the save on emulator and i had the same message.
My dumper is Flash Boy 3.2 from Aliexpress. I see it's a clone of FlashGBX. So i tried to use the software from FlashGBX 2.7.
It's working!
The problem is the flashboy software. The sav file is 128k with both softwares.

First of all great job on these articles was really helpful to get it all setup and seeing my 16 year old emerald game on the 3ds is just priceless feels like magic hehe.
Say tho is there a way to get the rtc working cause it doesnt seem to be working on my old save maybe cause the battery is dead on my actual cart? Id like to start hunting for mirage island and if the day changes it would make it alot easier to do.

You probably need to fix the RTC on your save.

You can do this by loading your Emerald save with PKHeX:

After doing the above go File > Export Save on PKHeX and try the exported save on the 3DS.
