A Christmas present for anyone setting up an RGH. A Raspberry Pi Pico costs about four quid, and with Pico 360 it reads and writes the NAND on a Jasper, Trinity or Corona just like the dedicated SPI flashers that cost a lot more. Nice work from luhkius, who put it out on Reddit.

It's beta release 2, and luhkius is upfront that it's unfinished and hasn't had much testing. Get the wiring wrong and you can damage the console or the Pico, so take your time.

How to use:

  1. Wire the Pico to the console as shown in Pico360Wiring.png. Plug the console into the mains but don't switch it on.
  2. Hold BOOTSEL on the Pico while you plug it into the PC, then run 360Pico.exe. It spots the Pico and offers to flash its firmware. If that doesn't work, copy Pico360.uf2 onto the RPI-RP2 drive yourself.
  3. Pick the dump option from the menu. The dump is saved as out.bin next to the program.
  4. Dump it at least twice and compare the files before you write anything back. Two matching dumps are all that stand between you and a very expensive paperweight.

If it stalls, unplug the Pico and the console, plug them back in and try again. If it keeps happening, it's nearly always the wiring.

J-Runner with Extras will check your dumps and build the image you flash back.
