PSP games in HD on an ordinary PC, with no BIOS to hunt for: that's PPSSPP. Henrik Rydgard's emulator upscales the graphics and adds save states, cheats, ad-hoc and online multiplayer and controller support. This is the Windows 64-bit build, which doesn't need installing.
Download:
Download PPSSPP 1.20.4
Extract the zip into a folder of its own and run PPSSPPWindows64.exe. Click Games and browse to the folder holding your PSP game images (.iso or .cso), or open one directly from the menu. It plays images of discs you own.
Tip: if a game misbehaves, run InfoLog.bat instead of the exe. It starts PPSSPP and writes a ppsspplog.txt next to it, which is the first thing anyone helping you will ask for. DebugLog.bat does the same with more detail.
PPSSPP has also been ported to consoles: PPSSPP for Xbox 360 and PPSSPP for Xbox One. If you have a real PSP too, the final system software is PSP firmware 6.61.
