Softmodded Original Xbox Disabled

The van helsing dvd auto updated my xbox and disabled my softmod, I noticed this happens whenever i play movies that have a playable demo for original xbox and also the jade empire le bonus dvd. The auto update wont allow me to boot my sid 5.11 xbmc dash but the ms retail dash boots just fine. The next step I did was I deleted the installer and savegame exploit and copied sid 3 and savegame exploit to the hdd then loaded oo7 game to get ftp access and then reinstalled the mod over again, but the problem is i'm tired of having to reinstall every time movies and games with auto update overwrite the softmod. Is there any way (besides obviously avoiding those dvd's) to prevent overwriting the softmod? I know that on my modded C drive i have these files in this order.

xboxdash.xbe

I've read countless forums all saying you can rename the xboxdash.xbe file but others have said not to because it will crash the xbox. I Also noticed that when i clicked on xboxdash.xbe in the file menu nothing happened just a blank screen, but when i rebooted back to file menu and clicked on xb1xdash.xbe it loaded the regular ms dash.

I would try a different softmod, Krayzie 007 UXE Installer for 007 has always worked great for me.

Used that loads back in the day and never had a single problem with it, Xbox's i did with that back in the day are still working great 7+ years later.

You shouldn't need to update anything with that installed.
