Nope if you run this update you will brick your jtag, you will NOT be able to recover if the R6T3 resistor has not been removed from your console.
So dont try it!

You need to update your console to Freeboot 0.032, this program will help you do that.
 
when you put new dashboard for kinect

The Kinect dashboard beta is flashed directly to the console and is not saved on the hard drive like previous dashboard. It will not be possible to upload this until it is released.
 
Hello, I have a Xbox elite (jasper) with LT 1.1 firmware, liteOn drive (99%sure) and Dashboard version: 2.0.8955.0

I've never went LIVE.

I'd like to upgrade the dashboard to 9199 with a CD but I need to be sure this won't mess up the LT 1.1 firmware. Can I update safely?

@InsaneNutter .. you have done a splendid job with this update ..

Im a noob in modding and wish to install the update however have few questions. I have a modded (i think with ixtreme 1.6 or earlier) xbox, which is (again i think) banned cos I have gone online and played pirated games. Now, I cannot install any games and my already installed games are not playing. Also my Media center library gets automatically cleared as soon as i exit media center. I havent logged into Xbox live since this is happening, however the network cable is always plugged into my Xbox for watching movies etc.

Considering above please let me know:

1. Can I install this new update and play & install my pirated games?
2. can you please direct me to the correct file to download (with Avatars etc) as there are a couple of links out here to download
3. I definitely wish to buy Kinect once it is out, so will i be able to install Kinect and enjoy it if i install this update ?

Thx in advance for your help .. waiting for answers.

1. You will be able to play and install your BACKUP games with this update. The update you have corrupts your 360 drive, this update will restore it back to normal.
2. Here or Here The first one is the Kinect Dashboard beta and the second is the 9199 dashboard, both have avatars so either will work.
3. This is a beta version of the update but will still work with Kinect, although when the official version is released it will be released here, which is advised to update to the non-beta after official release.
 
i have this update on my xbox but for some reason if i go to the market place or any were else on the xbox besides going to play a game online i get a error message for example i go to the avatar market place to change my avatars cloths i get blank screen then after a few seconds i get a message saying game error please contact xbox.com/support and i tryed every thing but still nothing i can even redeem a code on the xbox i have to go the the site to do it. 8o|
 
That sounds like a internet issue more then anything, maybe a really strict NAT or something.

When you say BACKUP games .. are these the same as the ones you download and burn to a dual layer DVD and the Chinese copy you get from the local grey market ..

Sorry for the noob question ... but i lack in the terminology you guys use :)

Hey any idea why the media center looses all the library on exiting ? a fix to this would make my xbox perfect :)
 
I have a jtag running 9199, and I've read that in order to get my avatar, media update etc, I need to run this update. True? Really worried about blowing efuses because I haven't removed my R6T3. Soldering is a bit of a pain as I use a friend.

Do I go for it, or just take care of my R6T3 problem first?

With the user name Moonstone that reminds me of a fantastic game called .hack, whether its from that or not, no idea. Anyways if you use this update you WILL blow the efuse because its an official update but if you repose the question as something like "How can I get avatars on a 9199 Jtag console?" maybe someone will have an answer.
 
You can use the 9199 update to restore avatars on a Jtag, that will not blow an efuse or attempt to update your console if your running Freeboot 0.032 which is the 9199 dash. The avatars will simply restore, however if your Jtag is on an older dash version such as 8995 it will also update your console and blow an efuse so your jtag will be no more.

It would be best to take care of your R6T3 problem so you don't accidentally kill your Jtag in the future.
