Xbox 360 Slim - No Storage Device Found on HDDHackr created 500Gb drive? Detects fine in FATXplorer.

Hello all,

Having trouble with this one. Not the first drive that I have done using this process (first one was a WD5000BUDT-63G8FY0 which I migrated up from a 120Gb Genuine Microsoft HDD, so I'm fairly familiar with the process and had no issues with that drive)

This new drive which is a WD5000BEVT-22A0RT0 went through with no issues as well and is destined to replace a 250Gb Genuine Microsoft Drive and is going to be used on a Non-modified Xbox 360 Slim.

As last time, I followed the guide from this wonderful forum - Hack a 250gb, 320gb or 500gb Sata harddrive to work in the Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 Slim

The drive appears correctly in both FATXplorer & USBXTAFGUI which is what is stumping me so much.

In attempting to correct this, I have tried method 2 of - How to fix Xbox 360 hard drive after connecting to pc

In doing that it appeared that all was successful. If I have missed something or there is an alternative method I have overlooked I would be more than appreciative.

If you guy's think that I should try with an off the shelf option from eBay, I'm open to that too; sometimes the time outlay outweighs the savings

Does an official hard drive actually work in the slim? that would rule out a faulty SATA / power connection on the console its self if so. The FATX tools for Windows will have no problems reading a drive which has no security sector, for example from a JTAG / RGH console. Although your screenshot does seem to suggest the drive has been hacked ok.

That is a strange one, have you tried using the undo.bin and hacking the drive again? i do remember in the past people have hacked a drive which looked fine then never worked on the Xbox 360 it's self. I seem to remember one person fixed this by hacking the drive using a different PC, and the other person just hadnt formatted the drive for some reason, but could format it on the 360 it's self under the storage options.

Yes the original "Official 250Gb Drive" does work. Only thing that I recall now is that I couldn't use the .bin that was designed for the drive and used the generic 500Gb drive HDDSS.bin to make it work. Should this be the case?

When I tried re-instating the undo.bin it wouldn't go and indicated that my drive already had the correct security sector.

I know its a big ask but do you have a UNDO.BIN for the WD5000BEVT-22A0RT0. I tried searching, but there was only one for the drives other variant.

If you used anything over than this Xbox 360 500gb security sector bin then that's probably why it doesn't work. It has to be one from a Microsoft 500gb drive.

From what you mention about trying to restore the drive, I think you might have just partitioned and formatted the hard drive as FATX but not actually hacked it. I don't have an undo.bin unfortunately.

To clarify, when I mentioned restoring the drive I meant inside of HDDHackr 1.4 using the UNDO.bin I had. I will try this again using a different computer to see if the result can be undone.
