Best Dashboard update for a offline 360 ?

A friend of mine bought a banned Xbox 360 Arcade. He doesn't care about XBL .
So , what dashboard update is the best for him , because i heard that the Arcade 360's can't handle the new updates ? Is that true ? Oh & btw , i gave him a 60gig hdd for his Arcade.

All consoles can handle the latest update, you just need some sort of storage device to store the avatar / kinect data, which he has.

I would just update with the latest 13599 update.

I'm guessing the console is flashed as its banned, updates after 12625 will flash the DVD firmware back to stock firmware which is something your friend might want to look out for.

Maybe the drive is flashed , but he does not care . So i guess he can just use the new update .
