I get a "load rom error= -4 please reset system" any idea why? I have tried the other distribution roms and work fine. I'm using an R4 SDHC Dual Core from r4isdhc.com

It's sad to say, but this Rom is not currently functioning. :'(

load rom error= -4 please reset system ... Comes up for me as well.

I'm certain that the issues you're having has something to do with DS flashcarts. I know the rom is good because I verified the dumps, and they work in an emulator.
Older R4's seem to be finicky like that though, and are known to cause some issues, but other than that I personally don't know how give proper troubleshooting advice in this case. Though, I figure a newer type of R4 or DS flashcart in general should likely solve the problem. There may be a much simpler way to fix it without expenses though.

I'm not really sure what's causing the issue, but the R4 in the question is this one:
http://3ds-flashcard.com/home/8-r4i-sdhc-3ds-rts-2017r4-card-for-2ds-3ds-xl-dsi-xl-ds.html

That's actually a newer model, so I'm not sure why it'd be causing the issue. There may be some issue with whatever firmware files the R4 is running off of, as that has been known to cause issues with R4s. Like I said though, I don't know enough about R4s to help troubleshoot in this case.

The best help would come from someone who has the same R4 and has successfully used the rom. My R4 is the original released version, doesn't run any of the "DSi enhanced" Gen V roms, though it still runs all Gen IV roms which includes this one.

Yeah, I wish I knew someone that had it, whom I could ask for help... I've been able to run all but this Rom and the jirachi Rom thus far. It's just irritating because I was really hoping for that Arceus. :-\

Did you try in an emulator?

The one on my phone seems to work fine with it, but I can't use it with the actual game that way. My best guesses are that the Rom can somehow detect being on a cart, or there's a bug in the cart.

If you are intent on using the legit distro rom to get the event as opposed to save editing/distro rom editing, it might be worth giving melonDS a try; it should have local wireless (at least partially) implemented right now and people are reporting being able to trade between two Pokémon games, so maybe connecting to distro rom with Pokémon game would work too.

If you can backup/restore saves from your retail carts to use on emulator, that is.

Unfortunately, as it stands, I can only do that with gen 6 + right now. Don't have the old version of AR... Just the 3ds one. :-(

Edit: I'm currently attempting to format and reinstall everything on the card. Will see how that goes. :-)

If stuff doesn't work with default kernel for that card it might be worth looking for YSMenu or R4 Wood.
Think this might work for YSMenu, as for Wood you'll probably have to look on your own because the only page I could find with decent-looking info on Wood R4 for clones is a thread on a rom site forum which I don't believe I'd be allowed to link to here (as it would likely lead to downloads for actual warez, lol.)

I'm going to look into that because what I was doing didn't work. Thanks for the suggestion.

@UnknownRespected
Thank you for suggesting that I use YSMenu on the cartridge instead of the default firmware. That has solved the issue, plus I like that one better anyhow. :-)

@YoshiMoshi
I just want to thank you, and the others who did this, for providing these Roms for all to have. It'll probably be a while before I can, and the amount small, but I'll try to donate something in return to assist with obtaining the aura mew cart(provided you haven't obtained it prior to my being able to assist).

Question. I put in the right date for the EUR Michina Arceus and I obtained it on my USA version of Diamond. I'm trying to do the same for the TRU Arceus on the same game with the right date but it won't let me obtain it. What's going on?

The two distributions use the same wonder card ID (0019), so if you have redeemed one you can't redeem the other. If you want to do this, you have to dump your sav file and then use a save manager (PKHeX) to delete the ID in the Mystery Gift "received list".
