That's the thing though, what's making it different from the other Gen V distro roms? Like I said, perhaps some unique copy protection is my only theory at the moment. Or at least, something different with the rom that isn't letting it distribute correctly, even if it isn't an actual copy block.

No, I have no idea. All I know is that this rom is unique and seems to have weird side effects depending on how it is used. (certain flashcarts may not work, but emulator or original cart works fine)
Iirc, even removing the date restriction will still not work on certain flashcarts, so I really only can say that this is an oddball rom that will only work on what possibly seemed to be the newer flashcarts.
I don't think anyone cared enough to put enough time and effort into pinpointing the issue, but the best best is likely buying the most modern NDS compatible flashcart.

Ok, it seems I got it to work by just flashing the firmware to YSmenu.

Now I was wondering: to have these pokemon suitable to be transferred to pokemon bank, it is necessary to change the date of the DS receiving the card to the event dates? Is the date you obtained the event pokemon an attribute that is checked?

No preparation is necessary in regards to legality and PokeBank transfer. You could technically have received the wondercard 7 years ago and not received the pokemon from it until today, which makes it still totally legitimate. This holds true for all following generations.

Oh, and about the flashcart question, I'm pretty sure the R4i Gold 3DS is the most current NDS flashcart to buy. Don't let the name confuse you, it just means it will play any NDS rom on all NDS revisions and the 3DS and its revisions.

thanks for the info I'm now happily getting my liberty pass, summer keldeo and spring meloetta. Any luck finding the winter keldeo and team plasma genesect distribution roms? Couldn't find them in the EUR section, nor in the USA one...

I managed to generate an hacked distribution rom from the liberty ticket one though. I did it only for the italia language, but if you have the other pkm languages and txt, I can add also the other languages and upload it, if people is interested

We are aiming to collect legit distribution, not user made ones. If there was interest we could maybe have a thread with user made distributions, keeping them all in one thread. However I wouldn't want these to get mixed up with all the legit ones a lot of money has been spent on obtaining, as it would undermine a lot of hard work gone in to collecting what we have now.

No real need to host edited distros. The editors, the base roms and all the Wondercards you could want are already readily-available to anyone who may want a custom one.

If anything the Deoxys and Liberty Pass distro editors could be mirrored here, if the original authors are fine with it. The event gallery could be linked to in those threads (no need to mirror.)

We know all the official ones, so it doesn't hurt to create a Genesect rom, etc, for your own personal use. I actually have a handful of many of these roms with the date restriction removed. A few are more complicated though, as you may be still limited to a year-long window, some even only a month.
But when it comes to wondercards, you can take them and place them in any rom that has no date restriction. Actually, the TRU Manaphy naturally already has no date restriction, so that may be the best one to inject with different wondercards.

Is there a similar guide for Gen V?
Until now I used the liberty pass tool to edit them one by one. But with these instructions, I could write a batch script that generated and hacked distro rom for each wondercard contained in a folder. That's a lot faster!

I tried to unpack the ROM, but as expected the structure is different. All I would need to know is where to find the date limit and where to copy what of the wondercards

Yeah, I don't know anything detailed about hacking the Gen V roms due to the different structure. You could look for a guide, but all I remember is tools like the Liberty Pass tool. Or you can figure it yourself and Ctrl-F the bytes you're looking for. Depending on what you're searching for, it make take some time with trail-and-error.

I would also like to know how easy it is to update an R4i Gold 3DS card to work with the latest (11.8.0-41E) 3DS software and whether this means that a 3DS is able to distribute roms such as the topic of this thread?
