Every PS2 homebrew setup ends up needing a file manager, and wLaunchELF is the one. It carries on from uLaunchELF: from one screen you browse the memory cards, USB drives, the hard drive and network shares, copy and delete files between them, and start any ELF program. The ps2homebrew team maintains it, and this is its rolling Latest development build from 6 October 2026, which the project replaces as it changes.
Download:
Download wLaunchELF (BOOT.ELF)
It's a single file, BOOT.ELF.
There is no recycle bin, so look twice at which device you're on before you delete anything, especially the HDD.
Tip: if you're replacing a BOOT.ELF that already works, keep the old one under another name until the new one has started.

- Copy BOOT.ELF to a USB drive or a memory card and start it from your boot method: Free McBoot, or PS2BBL. With PS2BBL's default config, hold R1 at power-on and it looks for BOOT.ELF in the memory card's BOOT folder.
- Pick a device from the menu: the memory cards, USB, the HDD and the network are all there.
