Open PS2 Loader is how a PS2 plays games from something other than the disc: USB drives, an SD card in the memory card port (MX4SIO), iLink drives, SMBv1 network shares or an internal ATA/IDE hard drive. It reads ISO, ZSO (compressed ISO), USB Extreme and HDLoader formats and runs ELF homebrew too. This is 1.2.0 Beta, build 2267, the newest OPL there is, from Ifcaro, jimmikaelkael and the contributors since. If the word Beta bothers you, 1.0.0 is the stable one.

Three folders. OPNPS2LD is the standard build, so start there. OPNPS2LD-VARIANTS has the same build compiled with and without PADEMU, the pad emulator, and with and without the extra features; the file names spell it out, and PADEMU=1 means on. OPNPS2LD-LANGS has the language packs.
Tip: the language files belong to this build, so don't mix them with another version of OPL.

- Copy the ELF to wherever you boot homebrew from on the PS2: a memory card set up with Free McBoot, or a USB drive.
- Start it and pick where your games live. Put the ISOs in the CD or DVD folder to match the disc type; the README has the full layout.
- For another language, copy its .lng file, and its .ttf font where the pack has one, into the OPL folder on the memory card without renaming either. Then open OPL Settings, go to Display, pick the language file, press Ok and save your settings.
Tip: the language files belong to this build, so don't mix them with another version of OPL.
