Sometimes a game or a setup works better on an older Open PS2 Loader, and this download has three early ones: 0.8, 0.9.1 and 0.9.3 revision 851. OPL is by Ifcaro and jimmikaelkael, and it runs PS2 games from a USB drive, a network share (SMB) or the console's hard drive.
Download:
Open PS2 Loader 0.8, 0.9.1 and 0.9.3
Each release has its own folder. 0.8 and 0.9.1 come as the standard build and a Childproof build (settings locked), 0.9.1 also has a No VMC build without virtual memory card support, and 0.9.3 is OPNPS2LD.ELF with its icon.
Tip: defragment the USB drive. The README says the game files must be perfectly defragmented or they won't load from USB.
Update: Free McBoot is on Digiex as Free McBoot 1.966. Newer Open PS2 Loader releases are 1.0.0 and 1.2.0 Beta.

- Copy the ELF of the release you want to a USB drive or the memory card.
- Start it from whatever you use to launch homebrew, such as Free McBoot.
- Set your games up as that release's README says. For USB that means a FAT32 drive with the game files in USB Extreme format; USBUtil 2.0 converts them. For the network it means a shared folder called PS2SMB that anyone can open.
