Xbox Offline Xbox Live Downloadable Content [DLC] Installers

hi, all. i'm new here and i want help regarding sid meier's pirates! dlc. i had bought this game from games on demand on my xbox 360 which is NOT modded. when i downloaded this game i also bought it's dlc via game menu. recently i bought xbox 360s with 250gb hdd. then i transferred all my data to this new hdd, but some of my files got corrupted. so deleted them. that included the 3 dlc files (which i missunderstood as corrupted)of this game. then suddenly i remembered that xbl has been shut downed for original xbox games.

now i have found this thread about lost dlcs. i just want to ask you that, can i install or transfer these 3 dlcs on my unmodded xbox 360s. i don't wanna mod my console so please help me on this matter.

edit: i read about how to inject items on usb drive for xbox 360 using UsbXtaf. i downloaded the dlc installer for pirates! unzipped it. then copied 3 folders which are under "content/$c". but when i connected usb drive to my x360 it shows all previous contents that were on it but not the contents that i added using UsbXtaf. did i do something wrong? how do i get them to show up on my x360? please help me.

You cant use these without modding your Xbox 360 unfortunately, same as your classic Xbox. The console has to be modded in some way to run the installer, which will sign the DLC to work on your console.
 
I have been searching the webs for a long time now and just stumbled onto this site. I am looking for the DLC installers for NHL Rivals, I have 1 Xbox softmodded with the content and would like to move this to my other soft modded box. We have retro gaming nights 2 times a month and need the content so we can play system link games. I can provide everything from my Xbox to get this off the ground. I also would be willing to trade something or pay for this to be done.

I'll need some information from you to be able to do anything with your saves/dlc/rosters etc.

All done with NHL Rivals 2004 DLC pack. I hope that helps. Your copy of the content matched my own perfectly. There may have been more updates in between rosters (#2A likely replaced #2, a missing content ID supports this idea) but all there was before Live went down was those 3 rosters.

Each roster update replaces the last. If you install all 3 at once, the game will only load the 3rd. I played around with the game for a few hours while building and testing but was unable to find where the All-Star Logo appears, please let me know if you can find it so I can grab a screenshot for the installer. You will likely just need the update installed for the 2 consoles to see each other.

Harcroft thank you so much, I have 2 Xboxes with system link working and roster update 3 working on both systems. My friends and I are going to have a riot playing pond hockey like the old days it was our favorite mode to beat each other up with no rules lol. Thanks again this forum is amazing. I will tell all my buddies about it for sure.

The vBulletin editor is a bit useless on modern web browsers sadly. If you go to your account settings under Miscellaneous Options you should see "Message Editor Interface"

If you select "Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls" you should have a lot more luck editing posts.
 
So im confused about what the difference of Unreal II and the Unreal II the awakening is?

Also im confused about the JTAG section of the updates? what exactly is the point of those? like do they work with old xboxs?
 
Unreal 2: The Awakening is a campaign style FPS game with some multiplayer features tacked on. It is a completely separate game from Unreal Tournament 2: The Liandri Conflict which is pretty much just a multiplayer arena style game, no story line driven campaign.

The JTAG updates are for homebrew enabled Xbox360 consoles, The way the installers are built, you need to launch a second installer to install the title updates for the games. This is a limitation of the CDX menu system we had to use to create the content signature files. You can't launch a new CDX instance from within another CDX instance on the original xbox backwards compatibility emulator for Xbox360. The second launcher simply crashes. So to supplement the working first installer for each package, I created a few installers that just install the title update with only a single CDX launcher specifically for homebrew enabled Xbox360. You do not need them for the original Xbox console, DLC packages for games that do require a title update already have a working Title Update installer in the original packages.

I hope that clears up the confusion.
 
oh okay thanks man, and i actually didnt know that the dlc also had the title updates. thats cool.

I know that they are separate games, i own the awakening on pc. But been looking to buy championship II. Its confusing that its just called unreal II though. May want to consider renaming that one.
 
I don't think it's confusing at all, you are the first person to ever ask me that question...

Well its cause you named it Unreal II.

A lot of people call Unreal II the awakening, just Unreal II. its Unreal Championship II. Thats why its confusing mate. Not sure why that hasnt been confused with before.
 
They are both for Unreal II: The awakening. NEITHER is for Unreal Championship 2. The Unreal II The Awakening one is just in a newer installer format where I included more contact information including a link to Digiex directly into the installer, cleaned up the folder setup, added game specific music and a few other behind the scenes things.

Someone re-linked the old one up when they shouldn't have.

I need some assistance, please. I am unsure on how to get the files onto the Xbox/Mem Card. I know there are pictures on the second post, but I don't know how to get the FTP to connect to the Xbox itself. If someone can give me more detailed directions, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
 
Is your Xbox modded in some way? by that i mean do you have an alternate dashboard like Avalaunch, Unleash, XBMC or anything like that on the console?
 
I soft-modded it using the Splinter Cell method. I have an Action Replay and just don't understand how to drag the DLC files on the Xbox.
 
Good that you have UnleashX, this should help then.
You'll have to move a DLC installer folder to an Applications/Apps, games folder on or something similar on the E drive for UnleashX to see it. I can't remember if Unleash uses E:\Apps\ or E:\Applications\

I would also recommend googling how to install XBMC to replace UnleashX. Good luck!
