Open diskmgmt.msc (you can search for it in the start menu) see if the hard drive is seen in there. If so you might be able to assign it a drive letter (by right clicking on the drive in there) so it will appear with the other hard drives on your computer.
the only option was to set new partition. I am currently running a partition recovery check but it's a 3TB drive so taking AGES!!! Any other advice if this fails?I wanted to upgrade from a 1tb external to a 2tb external on the xbox one.
Some people seem to suggest it still works, I can't seem to get it to work myself anymore. The drive should appear under device manager though regardless.
Interestingly enough, I came across a msg in the xb1 console settings stating that if the drive was formatted as the game install location it will no longer work on a PC. Perhaps that is old news?
