I’m sure it would have been mentioned if you got banned for using the NXE considering that was posted up today/yesterday depending where you are, so basically you got owned for pirating games.

As has been posted more times than I can count, plus confirmed by Major Nelson. If you install the NXE you cant access the live servers till its launched this does not mean your banned your xbox is just unable to connect.

The next person who moans asking if there gonna get banned, or warn everyone without any creditable source or evidence, will get there post deleted.

This is your final notice, your Xbox Live account will not be banned by installing this. You just won't be allowed on live on that console till its launched. It will be banned if your a pirate and modded your console to play pirated games but thats another issue altogeather from installing the NXE.

okay well thanks for the reply, i wasn't moaning, i couldn't care less if i get banned i can afford to get a new console....

however when i attempted to sign into live earlier....i got BAN QUEUE error codes....how do you explain this??

the only explanation i can come up with is that the NXE Server/XBL thinks my console is baned because my console's ID isn't on this "list" that can connect to live using the NXE

Your explanation is the most likely. As posted direct from Microsoft any console that gets the NXE by accident or deliberate means will just be disallowed from connecting to Xbox Live until its officially released. That stance has not changed. Do remember, the NXE can be installed by accident if you use a memory card or hard drive which has been used on a console with the NXE installed therefore MS would become the most retarded and hated company if they banned people for honest accidents.

They have said they would not ban, and I doubt they would say that then change their mind without saying something.

The only banning that has taken place is for people who have modified there consoles DVD drive and flashed it to play pirated games!

Thanks Nimrod for clearing things up, you just relieved me of my worries.
I could care less about not being able to sign in to LIVE until the 19th, it's only a week away, and I've gone longer.

What's funny is, today at school I handed out NXE install CD's to everyone who had a 360, I burned like 20 last night. Everyone was very thankful, especially my friend who doesn't even have LIVE.

In participation with this program, you should not move your storage device (hard drive, or memory unit if you do not have a hard drive) to any other console as it will also update that console. If an unregistered console is updated with the NXE update, that console will not be able to connect to Xbox LIVE until the NXE has been officially released on November 19th.

If you bothered to read the whole email you would see that’s not the case, read the second post in this thread

Please do tell me where it says “ban”, If you can back up what you’re saying with some proof do feel free to post some links, It just seems like your one of the people who just got banned for having a modded console and are blaming it on the NXE.

Edit - frytheperson beat me to it, but you get the idea... I would be interested to know how posting a picture up will prove your console is not modded.

And even if this guy was telling the truth, this could easily be circumvented by redownloading the NXE from Xbox.com come the 19th and then signing onto Xbox LIVE.

Exactly as many people have pointed out, it just feels like were going round in circles here every time someone can’t read an email without imagining the word ban is on every line.

I’m not going to spend ages re posting why I think you won’t get banned for installing the NXE.

As I think Nimrod posted earlier, anymore naysayers and scare mongers shouting ban ban ban frigging ban will most likely end up being banned on Digiex. If you're so desperate for the dashboard update and not wanting to be banned then just install the dam thing and disconnect your ethernet cable until the 19th. If you're still unsure then don't install the NXE update and be patient for a week! Wow this thread has got me riled up.

I don't know how to fix your problem. I had the 'Disk Read Error' problem once, so I sent it in, but your problem.. don't think I've seen it before.

On the subject of flashed consoles,
I think they ban based on the pirated content, however, I don't quite know.
I wonder how they track all of this as well... :?

I tried it, Nothing, after hooking the ethernet cord back up and hitting connect to live the date changes back to what it was and it still doesn't go on LIVE.

To play burnt games, yes you need to flash it. Though if you don't know how to flash it, theres no way you'll be able to flash the key on it. Each drive has a key that goes with the console, even if the drive is flashed it still won't play games inless that drive is the drive it came with. So if you plan to buy another i suggest reading up on more infomation first. As Even I'm not that sure on how to flash the key. Just try cleaning it.

I’m not a 100% sure exactly how to do this, but there’s more required than just swapping the drive out and putting another in.

Not to redirect you away from Digiex but I think would get a lot more information by asking this on Xbox-Scene, a lot of people who have made discoveries on how to do stuff like that hang out on there.

Can I ask why not just send your 360 to Microsoft to get fixed? Even if you have a launch console your warranty doesn’t run out until next month I believe.
