Hack a 250gb, 320gb or 500gb Sata harddrive to work in the Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 Slim

I made sure I renamed the file correctly...still didn't pick up hddss.bin...could I have done something else wrong?

format the flash drive to fat or fat32
make dos again
transfer the file into the root of the drive x:/hddss.bin x is the example drive
try again

Yea, do this again. As long as the hddss.bin file is on the usb stick, hddhackr should not have a problem recognizing it.
Re-do everything from scratch just to make sure.

Says firmware already on hard drive and it should work in my xbox 360...put it in, no dice. So yeah, gotta find another way here. Anything that'll help? It won't let me restore for some reason...

i dumped partition 3 and it saved it as hddss and it is 4kb big. when i reconnect my 250gb drive, it doesnt see it in xplorer 360 extreme. when i click drive>open>harddriveormemcard it says "could not find a FATX drive to open" i tried to click restore partiton 2, but it is grey and wont let me click it. What do i do to fix this?

**edit try running as admin**
you use xplorer360 for 20gb hard drive management(copying files) and restoring partition 2 on all xbox 360 hard drives(20gb,60gb,120gb,250gb)
you use xplorer360 250gb edition for 250gb drives only.

hook the hard drive up to the xbox 360 and format it in system settings>memory management

i did try running xplorer 250gb edition but that didnt notice that either and i did run it as administer but it still has the fatx error

hook the hard drive up to the xbox 360 and format it in system settings>memory>hard drive or unformatted>Y>format....

if it doesn't show up in the memory management undo the drive, then change undo.bin to undo.bin.old then reflash it

OK since I can't use the drive I have here for my 360 and I'm going to buy a new HDD what would be better the WD Scorpio Blue Series BEVS/BEVT/BPVT for $45 or WD Scorpio Black Series BEKT/BJKT for $50 its only $5 and I know the difference is very minor

i used the BEVT drive

yeah, it doesnt show up in memory management, so how do you undo the drive?

i figured out how to undo the drive so now the xbox sees it as "unformatted" so when i format it, and i did enter the right serial #, it it says "there was a problem performing this action" xplorer 360 still says " could not find a FATX drive to open" when i try to restore the data to the hacked hd

Yes you want to format it with the 360 enter serial # I just bought a WB Blue HDD for this used HDDHACKR flashed it Hooked it up to my 360 Phat model went to memory in the 360 and formatted it I didn't restore the partition 2 because I never play Xbox 1 games

I have downloaded all the required software. and i put the unzipped files onto a usb drive and then i connected my external hard drive(WD sorpio blue) to my computer via usb and then i turn my computer off...then turn it back on. boot from the usb drive...and nothing...what am i doing wrong??? PLEASE HELP!!!!

you cant use an external hard drive for this. you need an internal sata laptop hard drive that connects to the computer via a SATA port

what is the drive mode#(EX.2500BEVT) inside of it? you could possibly use it but you need to take it out of the enclosure

i just bought it...its a WD2500BEVT. I put it into a external hard drive enclosure that had my apple 160GB hard drive in it. I took the apple HD out and pt the WD one in. I connected it via usb and it didn't work. Then i tried swapping out the hard drive that is in my notebook with the WD one that i just bought and connected my USB drive with the 2 files on it and when i would go to the boot screen and booted from USB drive it just showed a black screen and a white underscore on the top left and just stayed there....help?!?!?!

@th3nigh7stalk3r that was kinda confusing so ill explain

wd2500bevt connected via SATA
usb flash drive configured for dos, then you put the 2 files in the flash drive
change boot device to usb flash drive
when done change back to boot device: hard drive
