Hack a 250gb, 320gb or 500gb Sata harddrive to work in the Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 Slim

Already tried that one. Nothing happened and Xbox is very slow. Any suggestions?
 
ATA vs IDE

You state that the SATA operation mode needs to be ATA. All of the mobos I have access to don't have an ATA option but the do have IDE. Will that work, or does it have to be ATA???.

Thank you for a great tutorial. This certainly saves me a lot of money because I was able to pick up a 320GB WD Scorpio BEVT drive for only $31. Note this is a Scorpio drive not a "Scorpio blue" and it completely works. A few points were a little confusing in the guide but it mostly worked. I did encounter several issues that I will share in case it could help someone else. I first started this and booted hdhackr no problem, flashed my drive and it said success. Then I went into the xplorer and it had all sorts of issues. It didn't want to detect my partitions or hdd. I went back to HDHACKR and then chose to format the 3 partitions with C and it worked after in xplorer to view the partitions. But when I went into restoring partition 2 it went into a infinite restoring loop and didn't do anything like somone else was complaining about. I guess it formatted bad because I plugged it into my xbox and it recognized it as a drive but it said it only had 200MB out of 320GB free. After reformatting in the xbox I was able to restore partition 2 and files from 3 no problem and the HDD is working.

With the 320gb drive you can still use it for os or storage use.
 
Hi all

i have received WD3200LPVX as a replacement of WD3200LPVT which went kaput few days ago, please confirm if this works , i cant open the cover and try it out myself, the reason is if i open the ESD cover i cant return it back to them, they were very particular about this when this hdd went for a RMA

im using Xbox slim 360 S 4gb

They're false positives. Certain programs will think they're a virus because of the code structure. As that's how most AV software works is looking for certain patterns in the code. It's completely fine to use though.

I can't get this thing to work.

I keep getting the error that there is no ATA devices found. I guess its something to do with the settings on my card or something. Here is my settings screenshots. Let me know if I don't have something changed right.
