Could be a newer model and the label, name could have changed.

Hi... Were you able to successfully hack WD5000LPVX with hddhackr?
I have ordered WD5000LPVT online, but have received WD5000LPVX. So, if it is not working then I will return it.

After sucessfully formatting my drive. Do I need to follow these steps in order to have the HDD work in a xbox360 slim?

Opening the 360 drive enclosure:

Restoring the Xbox Classic Emulator and User Content:

I don't have the tools in order to open it up and pull partition 2 from the original drive. I don't have a need restoring xbox classic emulator. Is it a must? Will I still be able to run games that were previously saved/data from games stored on the orignal hdd?

Also, I seen a video where someone showed having to go format the drive within the console with the serial number...?

Sorry for all the questions.. Just want to get all my ducks in a row. As I'm awaiting my drive and formatting the drive with hddhacker seems simple enough.

Partition 2(xbox emulator) is not required.
If nothing goes wrong then you won't need to format after hacking the drive.
 
Did you unzip the security sector from the zip file when downloading?

If yes remember you need to rename it to hddss, if you are hiding known file extentions you may have called the security sector hddss.bin.bin which would be incorrect.
 
Try putting the hard drive in your Xbox 360 to ensure its actually recognised and has been hacked ok.
 
The 360 will format it was FATX, do not format the drive on the PC.
When the drive is formatted as FATX tools such as Party Buffalo Drive Explorer will read it.
