Pokemon GEN3 Mystery Mew Distribution Save Game Download

If all you really want/need it for is running this specific save file backup/restore tool I don't know if I would recommend dstwo. I'd always recommend cheaper options because while money might not be an issue, sometimes it can be a bit overkill haha.

DSTwo is the reliable option for general use, with Acekard 2i being much cheaper and more-or-less just as good (not 100% sure about it running on higher 3DS firmwares though, but should work on regular DS/Lite.)
You can still go with one of those R4 clones since they're even cheaper, but you'd have to look around and figure out which ones are good and which ones are bad. As long as the flashcard is functional and can do the bare minimum of loading games w/ DLDI you'll be fine (but then again, I can't really help when it comes to R4, I don't personally feel like they're worth the headache of figuring out.)

But yeah, you need the flashcard to run the homebrew, no way around it.

Alright, I'll probably end up getting the dstwo. I plan on getting more into this kind of stuff deeper into summer break as I will have a lot of free time. I can not thank you enough for how much you helped me. I highly appreciate it!
 
If you're set on getting DSTwo, and have an exploitable 3DS (or one that already has CFW), just make sure you never use the Gateway emulation on it (3DS mode.)
There is code in its launcher that intentionally bricks your 3DS if it detects you're running Supercard DSTwo instead of Gateway (blame Supercard team for taking Gateway's code instead of making their own.)

There is no risk in running it normally as an NDS card though.

I can recommend the R4i Gold 3DS RTS, it works on any DS / DSi or 3DS including the latest 11.4 3DS firmware.

Theirs a lot of R4 clones all named similar, some have time bombs in the firmware which stop then working after a certain date. R4i Gold 3DS RTS by r4ids.cn doesn't and seems to be the card of choice for people who just want a cheap flash card.

The GEN 5 Pokemon distributions roms work on it, which is something that didn't work on my old 10+ year old flash card.

The site i linked to above is reliable from the point of view of what their selling, just message them and ask to pay via PayPal, as I wouldn't trust them with my card details.

I haven't seen this done yet but I figured it'd be convenient to put all the known Mews together in their respective box slots. We're only missing 15 Mew, which is a pretty low number in my opinion. The sav used was the 4th in the zip provided by OP. All credit still goes to them, just thought I'd make things a little easier.

This is the first FireRed Mew cart I've seen for sale on eBay in quite a long time. Duplicates became so common and dropped almost all physical value, in result they eventually stopped appearing. I find it fascinating that this one so far is somehow over $500, for something that is 98%+ likely to be a duplicate. Most occasions people don't bid so high, but I guess all it takes is one uninformed bidder.
 
Is there any truth to what that ebay seller says about the distribution carts not being able to go past cerulean?
 
It would be easy enough to verify, the save files are right here in the first post.
But no, east exit is accessible as the guard has moved his butt away from the door, and I mean there are dozens of Mews in the boxes that can learn the Cut HM that is in the bags for south exit ;p
 
All someone has to do is delete some Mews from the PC, and if they want to make it look real good, maybe change the play time a bit and add some "traded" pokemon, and then you can't technically disprove it's a copy. But I want to reiterate the rarity of distribution carts in general, especially carts from Gen III and/or Toys R Us in general. The fact that so many have sold is a dead giveaway. How many employees do you actually think had the foresight to even attempt to steal the cart, successfully from Toys R Us, within that one day it was distributed? All it takes is a DS with the GBA slot, an R4, any retail FireRed cart. Probably the easiest rare video game item to fake by far.

Not by a long shot, I'm not sure why some people say that about this cart.
The bag is cleared of all items, besides anything that isn't able to be sold. So that means you still have all Key Items and HMs. The savefile has you in Viridian City, but since you have Mews, you can teach one any of the HMs and explore the entire game. You could also just buy pokeballs too and catch something else. It runs on a regular FireRed cart/rom, therefore is a full game. Since it's impossible to get a "game over" from being stuck with a retail game, you can do all the same things here.

There was one user on reddit, who was working at Toys R Us. She said that she couldn't progress further in the game, because she was stuck in Viridian city or something.

I asked the seller to teach one of the Mews HM Cut, if he/she can progress further in the game.

I have concerns that it's fake. Because the reddit users comment were almost exact as the seller's (maybe a believable story).
 
Yeah, I remember reading that Reddit post about a year ago. She presumably just didn't think to teach a Mew Fly or Cut, but she even mentioned that she may not be remembering details correctly since it was so long ago.

The eBay seller probably read that post also, and that's why the listing was written that way. Regardless, It shouldn't take much to figure out teaching HMs to a Mew if they were to actually attempt to explore further.

Also, and I may have been over-analyzing it, but the terminology used by the eBay seller struck me as odd. On mentioning why he won't accept returns, he referred to people taking Mews from the save and then returning the cart. I feel that him referring to it as a save shows that he subconsciously views the save as the value in possession, not the actual cart, which would imply he knows the save was injected on a random FireRed cart. If he thought/knew it was legitimate, he'd likely naturally refer to it as a cart or game. But like I said, I may be over-analyzing, but that's just what was on my mind.

I don't like talking crap about people who I don't know for certain have been dishonest, but I find the whole situation sketchy. Any Mystery Mew cart for sale should bring up red flags, as I explained in a previous post. Maybe I'm just bitter, when after seeing these devalued to under $100 over the last few years, that he somehow got $740 for it. And if I were dishonest of a person to sell a repro for that amount, I'd instantly be able to finish paying for the Aura Mew rom I've been struggling so long to obtain.
 
The seller just sold Old Sea Map Festa Event Mew on a Japanese Emerald Cartridge.

I believe the feedback was edited soon after I emailed the seller, because it said: "thank you, it is authentic Sea Map."

LOL! I don't even know how likely it is he'd have found a Japanese Emerald with an original savefile that contains the Old Sea Map wondercard. I'm not exactly sure of the rarity. I have an original savefile that quite a few people have spread around on ProjectPokemon, and it's possibly the same one.

Found the listing. I don't think it's the same savefile I have, because the one I have the Mew is already battled. I find it odd though the Mew is unbattled, considering most people would have naturally battled it. The gift hasn't even been received from the delivery guy, which naturually would've been done a long time ago. In that case it'd be even more rare, and very unlikely.

Regardless of all of this, it's also just as easy to inject all legitimate Gen III wondercards these days with the tool on ProjectPokemon, so a cart containing one isn't worth the money by any means.

In my personal opinion, this guy is likely a fake. One of his other old listings is a FireRed that has the Mystic Ticket, also not yet received from the delivery guy. To rare for both be a coincidence. He's likely selling carts that he uses the wondercard injector with, or injecting this Mew savefile.

Unless he's a collector selling off all some really rare stuff, I find the evidence makes this all very unlikely.

That seller relisted the cart, claiming the winner didn't pay the $740. I still recommend staying away, as explained above.

Note the item's description: "These Mystery Mews were distributed by direct trade at Toys R Us stores in the US on the 30th of September 2006, and for only three hours from 12 - 3 pm. It was the only way to get a legit Mew in the US during Gen 3."

Now go look at the second post in this thread made by me. Literal copy-paste, like he didn't even try. Don't ever buy these unless there's something to prove uniqueness.

I don't know why suddenly a bunch of these are appearing out of no where, but another cart was listed for only 24 hours yesterday, which was indeed unique and apparently legit. We could tell because it had some of the 420 Mews we still don't have in Boxes 1, 2, and 3, and we were able to verify the legitimacy with the seller with some data we have proving they weren't just moved there. Thanks to ongoing funding help from some members on ProjectPokemon, we were able to obtain that cart, which should provide us with the remaining missing Mews!

So soon we'll have every single one of the 420 legitimate Mystery Mews (besides the theoretical party).
