It wouldn’t be Christmas for the Pokemon community without a Christmas day event release would it?!

For the final release of 2018 were excited to bring you the Strongest Pokemon distribution. What’s special about the Strongest Pokemon distribution is it’s the first Japanese NDS Pokemon Distribution to make it out in to the wild. Compared to some of the European and American distributions for Gen 4 and 5 which can often be found on Ebay, this is the first time a Japanese distribution has been found on an auction site.

This distribution was used in Pokémon Center stores in Japan for part of the Strongest Pokemon event, distributing the three Pokemon that were chosen via a poll. These Pokemon are Milotic, Dragonite and Salamence.

We have @YoshiMoshi to thank for this extremely rare release, needless to say this cost a lot of money, however in true community spirit he was more than happy for this to be released so all the Pokemon Community can enjoy it. So thank you very much @YoshiMosh, its much appreciated!

As hinted yesterday we have more lined up for the Pokémon Community this Christmas.

The Space World 97 Mew is currently the oldest event Pokemon we have the privilege of preserving and releasing to the Pokemon community.

This Mew was distributed at Nintendo Space World '97, which was held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan between November 21st to 23rd 1997.

The story of how this Space World 97 Mew was obtained all these years later involves a lot of luck, so be sure to read more in the Pokemon GEN1 JPN Space World 97 Mew .pk1 thread to learn more about the oldest preserved event Pokemon.

Hopefully things will fall in to place during 2019, so more events from years gone by can be preserved for future generations of Pokemon players to enjoy.

A big thank you goes to salinbreezy and @Deoxyz for preserving this extremely rare Gen 1 JPN Pokemon event.

Today marks the start of Christmas for the Pokemon community, especially those in Europe. Thanks to a collector who wishes to remain anonymous we are pleased to be able to release the French, German, Italian and Spanish regional variants for both the Top 10 Distribution (10ANNIV) and the Aura Mew Distribution, meaning the complete sets of these Gen 3 European Pokemon distributions are finally available for all to enjoy.

Exactly two years ago today the first ever Pokemon GBA distribution was released for all to enjoy, the English Pokemon 10ANNIV Distribution, then to follow up exactly a year after today the English Pokemon Aura Mew Distribution was released. It seems fitting for the third year the recently obtained regional language variants of both these distributions are released.

You can head over to our existing posts for the Pokemon 10ANNIV Distribution Cartridge and the Pokemon Aura Mew Distribution Cartridge to find they have been updated with the regional variant distributions for you to enjoy.

Reminder, we also have a save game created by the Digiex community for Pokemon GEN3 Legit Event Pokemon, so you can also trade yourself many Generation 3 event Pokemon which distributions are not about in the wild for.

Christmas is only just getting started, so you might wish to check back tomorrow to see if Delibird has another present for us.

Released by LucasArts in 1995, Full Throttle is a classic graphic adventure game from industry legend Tim Schafer, telling the story of Ben Throttle; butt-kicking leader of biker gang the Polecats, who gets caught up in a tale of Motorcycles, Mayhem and Murder.

The remastered edition of Full throttle features all new hand-drawn and 3D high-resolution artwork, with remastered audio and music.

In celebration of the GoG winter sale you can get Full Throttle Remastered for free until December 15 at 2pm UTC+0

It might well be worth checking out the GoG winter sale too, fantastic games such as Mafia II, complete with all its DLC is on sale for £5.99. A well worthwhile purchase in my opinion!

Crackdown is currently available for free on the Xbox Marketplace according to the games listing. This is believed to be part of Microsoft's upcoming X018 event, however nothing has been announced as of the time of posting.

At this moment in time its not clear how long Crackdown will be free to download, however as Microsoft don't have the functionality to time limit full game downloads on the Xbox 360, its pretty safe to say you will be able to keep Crackdown indefinitely if you download it now.

Crackdown can be enjoyed on the Xbox 360, Xbox One and even on the Xbox One X in 4K, with the ability to play over system link if you don't have Xbox Live gold. As one of my all time favourite Xbox 360 games Crackdown is certainly worth having in your collection if its not already.

Thanks to Digiex member Gunz4Hire for the heads up.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 are free for a limited time on the Microsoft Store according to each games listing. This is believed to be part of Microsoft's upcoming X018 event, which has gone live a bit earlier than intended.

At this moment in time its not clear whether this is a full-on giveaway or if each game is just free to play for a limited time. Either way if you have any interest in either game it might be worth claiming them sooner rather than later.

In addition the base Battlefield 1 game is currently £5.25 on the Xbox One and £4.37 on PC, although keep in mind Battlefield V is out this November. Still a great deal for anyone interested in the game.

The Settlers is a game series which has been around since 1993, developed by the German studio Blue Byte. With The Settlers series now being 25 years old, Ubisoft had a couple of surprising announcements to make regarding the city-building RTS series during gamescom today.

A new game titled "The Settlers" is currently in development, in addition The Settlers History Collection was also announced for release this fall. The Settlers history collection is a re-master of all seven Settlers games from years gone by, complete with their expansions.

The original Settlers from the history collection is actually available for purchase on Uplay right now, with the rest of the game launching towards the end of the year. However you can already purchase all the past Settlers games with the exception of the first on GoG (Good old Games) already patched up to work on modern computers, which given GoG is DRM free might be the better option. At £4.29 for the original Settlers on Uplay though its something I might take a chance on. I've many good memories of playing this split screen with two mice on the Amiga 500 many years ago.

If you remember back to Animal Crossing on the GameCube the normal NES games that you could obtain each came as an individual furniture piece that appeared as an NES console with a single game box on top of it. When you placed the item in your house and interacted with it, it would only play that one game.

It was also possible to also obtain a generic “NES Console” item that did not feature any of the built-in games. You could buy this item from Redd, or sometimes obtain it through random events such as town bulletin-board message.

It turns out this generic NES Console can load NES roms from a GameCube memory card as James Chambers explains in his blog.

Nintendo might well have planned to distribute additional NES games on memory cards at some point, however decided against that. So its pretty neat to see unused features enabled on GameCube games all these years later.

You can read the very detailed article on James Chambers's Blog.

If your interested in Nintendo Switch homebrew, hacks or custom firmware now is the time to quickly purchase an Fusée Gelée (RCM) exploitable Nintendo Switch. This is a hardware exploit which can't be patched, the only way to patch this exploit is for Nintendo to release an updated hardware revision, which is exactly what Nintendo is in the process of doing.

Reports are surfacing that newly purchased Nintendo Switch consoles do not work with the Fusée Gelée exploit. However for now these consoles appear to ship on firmware 4.1.0, which is vulnerable to Deja Vu, an unreleased softmod exploit.

So not all hope is lost yet if you do happen to get one of these consoles, however it would be advisable to purchase a Fusée Gelée exploitable console as soon as possible if you have an interest in homebrew on the Nintendo Switch, as this is by far the better exploit which can't be patched.
