Tell us your PC specs if you want help. We can't really diagnose the problem if we don't know anything about your PC. I am pretty sure is that it isn't the download.

I have downloaded it on XP without a problem, doesnt even crash ! :)Thanks so much, does this version have all the patches, for like the Fairys and Spiders? If it doesnt, do you have any idea where i can find it, no where seems to have it..

Thanks for all the help with getting this great game going...

Thought I'd just post what ended up working for me, which was using a glidewrapper (which I got from dgVoodoo DEGE),though I've attached the 2 files you need. Simply place them in your DKII folder and run the game from there (compatable win98/me) not from a shortcut and yay it works...

Hope this helps someone else!

hey - thanks a TON for this game! I downloaded it and beat it in the last couple weeks - took me back to my childhood - haha.

I haven't had enough yet though... anyone out there have Dungeon Keeper Gold Edition?

I get that too, no matter which compatibility I use... Some won't run, and with 95, 98/NT and XP I get black blocks on the screen obstructing animation.

I'm going to try installing it on my XP laptop, but I'm not having too high hopes. If someone knows how to avoid the graphics-problem, please help us.

(I also have pretty good G-card, RAM and all... should not be a problem running this lovely oldie)

Does any1 know how to play over internet? I really like this game.. But i have noone to play with since i got no LAN mates :| thx(6)
 
I signed up here today, just because I wanted to thank you. All of you. Every one of you here and in so many other places.

I want to thank you, because I'm the one who created this custom build. It's the only thing I've ever released, but I am still absolutely amazed by how popular it is. After over 2 years, the seeding ratio of this game is still so heavy on the seeders, that it would make one think it were a private torrent.

Again, thank you. All of you. And everyone who has downloaded the Silver Edition from other places.

And no, I won't answer any questions about supporting this game. I didn't create any original code, and I have no decent idea how to make it work under windows 7. All I did was patch it up and repackage it for new consumption.

Whenever I start a campaign or Pet Dungeon, the game toolbar pops up on the bottom of the screen as it should, and the narrator guides me through the objectives. HOWEVER, there's no dungeon to be seen. Cursors, buttons, tabs, options, life bar, message bar, everything is there... except the dungeon.

And YES I tried clicking on the Heart symbol by the life counter, and I also clicked the map on the lower left hand corner. Nothing. When i move my cursor around, it changes from hand to hammer, as if hovering over the dungeon, but all I see is blackness.

And I apologize for being redundant. Just trying to be clear.

Now what?

Oh and thank you for posting the link to the game. I cant wait to get it up and running correctly! (yn)

Exact same problem, i have tried everything that was put on this forum, here my pic though for some reason it doesnt show it, but i do have the cursor

Try this...

XP: Turn on Windows 2000 compatibility, Turn off Visual Design support (in settings dk2.exe).

Vista/win7: Turn on Windows 2000 compatibility, Turn off Visual Design support (in settings dk2.exe). Make sure no other background program is running as no process (probably d/l program - this will cause flickering Screen). Add "...\Dungeon Keeper II\dkII.exe" -softwarefilter -32bitdisplay to DK2.exe starting options.

If Black Squares instead of Textures are upcoming: Start Game. Go to settings ingame, go to graphics, disable Hardware support. start a mission. Now it must work. Leave Game per official exit.

if you are using a dual core, Start Game, press ctrl+alt+del, go to Taskmanager and disable cores until only one core is left for following processes: DKII.exe DKII.icd (this is for providing uncontrolled mouse moves ingame) Switch back to DK2 per TAB.

"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bullfrog Productions Ltd\Dungeon Keeper II\Configuration\Video" settings:

Screen Depth = 32
HighWalls = 0
if Game wont start without 3D Hardware enabled:
Screen Hardware3D = 4 (probably 5 if hanging up)

I downloaded game did everything you told me to do (put it on a disc with that program) now it tells me that the cd is not right and I can't play it anyone know what to do? really wanna play this game :(

I'm having a problem with the installation however, it stalls on 49% for about 5 minutes and then i get an error message:

I'm running it on Vista and i have also tried on my old XP laptop, same problem. Any help much appreciated. Spec on either my Vista or XP system isn't an issue as either can more than accomodate this game.

Either your download currupted, or your burning of the disc failed (if you burnt it).
